April 23, 201412 yr Having watched the wonderful training package from Airline2Sim, had great fun interacting with my first officer in exactly the same way as they do in the videos. The flows are done slightly different, has anybody had the chance to make their own for the Q400? I am working on new ones myself, just wanted to know if anyone has some they would like yo share? Sent from my Mobile thing Apologies if this results in a double post Will Reynolds Flight Sim Addict
April 23, 201412 yr I've been using MCE with Q400, and I made a few minor changes. I changed the After Start Flow to eliminate the following just to streamline it and save some time: APU Bleed Off APU Gen Off <---if rarely used APU is on, then I, the Captain, will turn it off APU Off Main Bus Tie Off Pitot Heat On <---these tasks are now part of the Captain's flows Window Heat On Nose Wheel Steering On Left MFD set to Nav Check Flight Controls <---- gust locks are still on, so now is not the time to do this In the Before Takeoff Flow, performed at the holding point, I added: Transponder to Standby <---------tricks FO into actually turning transponder to Alt On, since that is accomplished by holding the SBY button down Control Lock Release <----I will manually do the subsequent flight control check, or else command FO to do it separately Wx Radar On All in all, just basically just some minor changes to bring it into accordance with the flows put forth in Majestic Tutorial #2. I don't have Airline2Sim yet.
April 24, 201412 yr What is the trigger for the FO to turn the control lock on and off? Control Lock On/Control Lock Release?
April 24, 201412 yr What is the trigger for the FO to turn the control lock on and off? Control Lock On/Control Lock Release? release control lock engage control lock but those you mention probably work too, as probably do Gust locks on, and Gust locks off, or engage/release Gust locks.
April 25, 201412 yr Author Thanks for the suggestions. Have found a LOT of really good features to implement, might re-do the scripts. Sent from my Mobile thing Will Reynolds Flight Sim Addict
April 25, 201412 yr Do I change the flow or procedure? What is the difference? Whichever or both. They are identical copies of each other. No doubt the person who originally wrote them wanted to be able to say Flow or Procedure and get the same result.

April 28, 201412 yr So I have replaced the default after landing flow with a modified one. Yet for some really strange reason he keeps performing the old one. Any ideas? This is the one I made: [OPTIONS] Suspend=0 Verbose=1 RequireConfirmation=0 [REPLIES] Reply1=ok i perform the after landing flow [COMPLETED] Completed1=after landing flow complete [sCRIPT] weather radar off pause=2 right mfd to system mfd show electrical pause=2 retract flaps pause=4 engage control lock pause=2 fuel pump tank one off fuel pump tank two off pause=3 yaw damper off pause=2 bleed mode to normal pause=3 main bus tie on airframe de-icing mode off pause=2 propeller de-icing off engine anti-ice off pause=2 start apu pause=10 Yet he starts off by messing with the lights so he is definitely doing something different. This is the folder I am using: Multi Crew Experience\Support\Files\VoiceScripts\Copilot\Aircraft\mjc8q400
April 28, 201412 yr When you run the Wizard, it looks at all the airplanes you have in FSX and copies the relevent stock scripts into a folder in your Documents/Multi Crew Experience/MyVoiceScripts. Those act as your working copy, and when you modify/create the script via the MCE gui, this is the copy that gets modified. If you modified the scripts with your notepad, you have to make sure you are modifying the ones in MyVoiceScripts, because those are the ones that get run. The ones in the main MCE Program folder path, the location you cited above, should remain pristine.

October 2, 201411 yr Hi. I have a couple of questions about MJQ400 and MCE. I enjoy very much flying Q400 with MCE in P3Dv2. 1. Can FO change radio frequencies directly on the radio panel not through FMS? It takes a rather long time through FMS. Right now it is impossible for FO to change frequencies before RC4 starts nagging. 2. In some checklists, FO ask "Condition lever" then I answer "Max". But FO does not seem to understand my answer. He always says "confirm". Is it only me who gets this? 3. FO does not seemto recognize Isolation valve in the Before-takeoff checklist. Do I miss something? 5. I wish FO can callout the following. Is it possible? - 80 knots (I shall reply "check") - Positive rate - Transition altitude - Decision hight (I shall reply "Landing") I appriciate if someone help me out. Yuji Y
October 3, 201411 yr Commercial Member 5. I wish FO can callout the following. Is it possible?- 80 knots (I shall reply "check")- Positive rate- Transition altitude- Decision hight (I shall reply "Landing") These are definitely implemented for all aircraft apart from the decision height which is always 200 feet for ILS. Callout is "Minimums" You may want to check that MCE is communicating with the sim as expected. Be aware, when Windows UAC is enabled (and you can keep it that way), you MUST 1 - Install MCE to default C:\Program Files...\ folder 2 - Set "fsx.exe", "Prepar3D.exe" or "fs9.exe" to run as administrator No such requirement when UAC is disabled. October 4, 201411 yr Speaking of DH, one feature I've been dying for is the ability to tell the FO the decision height, instead of it always being fixed at 200 ft. Not specifically for Q400, but for all planes. No need to have the FO read it from the radar altimeter or any fancy SDK stuff like that, just the ability to inform him what the DH is, of course defaulting to 200 ft.
