April 24, 201412 yr Hello, I just got the Saitek pro flight pedals today as a birthday gift, but i can't get them to work. When i start the driver installation from the provided CD, and click next, this appears: Please plug in the controllers you want to update. Then i plug in the pedals's usb in to the yoke housing, but it's not possible to click next. I have tried every single usb port on my computer, included the 3 on the yoke housing, but it's not possible to click next in any of them. So i am stuck, witout the driver installation i cannot use them. Has anyone else had this problem? And maybe have a fix for it? Greatly appreciated! Cheers, Kim.
April 24, 201412 yr I think the best advice I can give you, is to not use the Saitek drivers. Use the cd for something constructive, like a coaster, perhaps! Personally, I use FSUIPC to configure and calibrate my rudder pedals, as well as the yoke, and throttle quadrant. Or you can just set up your rudder pedals through the FSX controls setup. Either way, your rudder pedals should work just fine. Cheers, Craig ps, Just kidding about the coaster bit.
April 24, 201412 yr Yes. Much like Craig said. However someone correct me if I am wrong, but I believe FSUIPC is an intermediary and not per se a driver. Remove the Saitek drivers and then restart Windows 7 64. Then with no drivers installed just plug in the pedals and see if Windows 7 reacts to them and if it recognizes them. Windows may install them without the Saitek driver. If not, do you have a laptop or other computer? Try there and see if the pedals are recognized. That to isolate the issue. If say another computer recognizes them then its likely not an issue with the pedals. But if another computer also fails to find them then it is more likely an issue with the pedals you received. Another thought. Did you have a previous set of other pedals installed before getting the Saiteks? If so, remove all elements of the previous pedals. Also, I read you tried all the USB ports on your system. What version USB are they? Some of this FS related hardware does not like USB 3.0. However I doubt any system yet has USB ports that are all 3.0. Finally, I have found the three USB ports on my Saitek Cessna Pro Flight Yoke to be underpowered. And when I added the Saitek power supply (tried two of them) those ports actually supplied even less power for some unknown reason. I can see the LED display on my Saitek Multipanel dim considerably when I plug in the yoke power supply. When you resolve the issue with the pedals then I recommend you plug all devices into ports on the computer or ports on a legitimate powered USB hub. April 25, 201412 yr I run all my Saitek products without their drivers through FSUIPC. When you fresh boot Windows and you first plug in the pedals, without any Saitek drivers being loaded, Windows should recognize them and install its drivers for them. Where that driver comes from is not known to me. Has nothing at that point to do with FSUIPC. FSUIPC runs when FSX is loads. Not before. You should be able to get Windows to recognize the pedals well before running FSX. You should also be able to use pedals with other programs that have no relationship to FSUIPC. Please do not misunderstand me. FSUIPC is a highly valuable tool. Indispensable in my opinion. But it is not the driver for the pedals. Instead it is a tool to extract the best performance.
