April 25, 201412 yr Good gosh. Couldn't watch it all! That is some serious skill there. James Bennett
April 26, 201412 yr Nobody ever said that flying for the Blue Angels was for the faint of heart.

April 26, 201412 yr OMG!!!!! Don't hiccup, don't try to scratch an itch, etc. Total focus and not one nervous cell in your body, . . . . or die. I have 100% admiration for the people who perform like this no matter whom they fly for. I had the pleasure of watching the Blue Angels perform a KTOL years ago. Parked on a overpass near the end of runway 25. On their passes they were going by our location so close you could feel the air compression and wake, maybe 50' high and 50' distant. One of the aviators actually looked over at us as he went by (the rest of the flight was on his other shoulder). I thought "darn that is cool but please for the love of God watch where you are going". Mel
April 27, 201412 yr They are impressive, aren't they? I've loved the Angels ever since I was about 8 or 9, and watched them a fly their Phantom II's through the blimp hangar at Moffet Field in Mountain View. After thry went our the other side, I looked around, and it turned out it wasn't just a young boy (me) jumping up and down and cheering A truely amazing flight demonstration team. And suprizingly, to my knowledge, they've never followed the leader into a smoking hole... Patrick S. Bernard Sgt. USMC (inactive)
