April 27, 201412 yr Hey all, I have purchased Steve's DX10 fixer. A reasonably fresh install of Windows and FSX and running really well under DX9, but all the raving about DX10 means I cannot ignore the call :-) However I am nervous about this.I tried it once before and did not have a good experience - ended up with a disc format (admittedly not entirely as a result of the issues I was having with FSX but it was the cherry on the top for me at the time... So, is there a definitive idiots guide to going DX10? Reading these forums, it seems there are many / known / reported issues and tweaks to address those issues. Can these not be compiled into a single document - or has this been done already? Lastly, is there an imminent new update to DX10 in the works? I don't want to be installing the current version today and an update gets released tomorrow? Thanks in advance. April 27, 201412 yr The program comes with an in depth PDF instruction and configuration manual. If you look at mutleyshangar.com reviews page under developer stevedx10' you will find a detailed review of his DX10 Fixer. That should ease your qualms. Bob Sent from my tablet thingy!

April 27, 201412 yr Commercial Member To answer the question in the original post v2.2 will be released shortly this week or next - its primarily bug fixes and a redesigned GUI. Updating really isn't that hard and there is very little to go wrong. My FSX Analysis Blog
April 27, 201412 yr Any way to get a copy of the instructional pdf file for this product. Would like to see what it entails before buying. Dave Hinson David Hinson
April 27, 201412 yr Commercial Member Dave, if you can wait a couple of days I will send you a link to the latest version of the manual. My FSX Analysis Blog
April 29, 201412 yr Greg - I'd do a search for PaulJ's "How to" guide. Coupled with the Fixer manual, it'll be all you need. It takes you through setting things up (step by step) - including fsx.cfg and nVidia Inspector (or the ATI equivalent). If you follow both of those religiously you won't go wrong. I've tweaked my FSX and Fixer with a vengeance - and there's nothing in those two sources that is bad advice, IMHO. Though my system is old/only mid-range, FSX + DX10 + Fixer has worked stably and beautifully for a fair while now. So much so that I'm beginning to miss the tweaking!!! Paul appears to be a modest bloke, so I have to do all his "selling" for him! Adam.
