  1. I have followed all the suggestions in the forums. MSSTDFMT.dll has been downloaded many times and placed in all the recommended folders, one at a time. I still get a Run-time Error 713 Class not registered You need the following file to be installed on your machine MSSTDFMT.dll Any suggestion gratefully accepted. Bob (theyorks)
  2. I have just followed the install procedure mentioned above and it worked flawlessly. I copied my UT2 Traffic file from FSX-SE to P3D v4 SimObjects to simplify paths. Thanks for the heads up, was dreading to have to spend more money. Bob York
  3. Just for those who took the time to answer my earlier posts, I have finally got UT2 working in P3Dv2.3. It has made a world of difference flying in Oz. Thanks to everyone who posted in this topic, seemingly innocuous comments here and there sorted things out for me. cheers Bob
  4. Thanks for clearing that up, I have already deleted UT2 from FSX. I have managed to run the UT2 installer and got it to install in P3D, but it is not running, and is not showing in the Modules menu. Back to the drawing board, but not until tomorrow morning. Australian Eastern Time. Bob
  5. Am I correct in assuming that UT2 will only work in P3D v2.3 only if FSX is uninstalled? I ask because I do not understand how to add the registry key pointing tp P3D when one already exists pointing to FSX. At this point, everything else seems straight forward. Cheers Bob
  6. FlyBoyMikey Thanks mate, you've saved me a download and install. Bob
  7. Nanosour, I have not tried the photo scenery as of yet. I did not like it in FSX so have steered away from it. i will give it a go, anything should be better than what we have. Every other flight simulator I have used, and that would include just about everything you can name, has manged to get Sydney YSSY correct. Even apps on my Win8 phone and iPad. I wonder if New York or some other major US airport was so badly represented would it have been ignored for so long. Bob
  8. It's been a year since I delved into the world of X-Plane, starting with Ver 10 Global. I even had a PC custom built after watching the X-Plane demo to make sure I would get the best out of it. First impressions were good. There was a lot to re learn after years of FSX, but the process was exciting. I followed various forums dedicated to X-Plane, and download, even purchased, add-ons. A year later, and X-Plane resides largely untouched. Why ? you may ask. Well, very early on, being Australian, I flew from my home airport, Brisbane, YBBN (custom Scenery) to Sydney, YSSY. To say I was shocked to find that Botany Bay had been filled in, and YSSY was now landlocked is an understatement. I thought, if they can't get Sydney right, how accurate is the rest of the world! How would I know by looking? I have traveled extensively, but I certainly couldn't say with any certainty if the major airports around the world are depicted accurately. I did query this major landfill operation on some forums, and was given the reasons for this totally inaccurate depiction of the major International airport in Australia. Not happy, but I lived in hope. One Year On...several updates including betas, and here we are today with a major airport still totally inaccurate in X-Plane. I just can't go there. Being a major Australian international and domestic hub, I just can't get myself to fly for my VA any more. X-Plane is a simulator, not a game. How can I simulate landing on RWY 34R descending over Botany Bay, when the 'bay' does not exist? And Botany Bay is not some small, trivial inlet. It is a major feature of the coastline south of Port Jackson (Sydney Harbour). I guess if I delete X-Plane, it will leave me with lots of space to add to my FSX collection. Unfortunate as that is. Bob
  9. Sorry for the delay in keeping you up to date. Had a few electrical problems around the house - inverter split system A/C decided to blow up, and affected a couple of power runs. hopefully all fixed now - except for the new A/C which we need as our (relatively mild) winter sets in. I did a complete uninstall and registry clean, junk file removal et al and reinstalled OpusFSX as per instructions. Problem is fixed. probably got a bit confused originally with the wrapper going to D:/ by default, so thought the install should go there too. Now just to fix a few other tweaks and I am good to go. Great customer service - wish you the best of luck in your software dev. Bob
  10. Many thanks for clearing that up. i have just sent the opus software folder from D:/ to C:/ and it has moved successfully. i am currently doing work on my C:/ drive so will test the Opus Server as soon as i get a chance to boot up my flightsim drive and will post the results. thanks again. Bob York
  11. I have read the FAQ's, included documentation and several forum posts regarding my problem. I understand that the Opus Software folder (Lic file) must be installed in the C:/ drive, however, I run a dual boot system and my Windows 7 / FSX boots direct from drive D:/ from the boot manager. Drive C:/ is my work drive, and boots under its own Win 7 from the boot manager and contains no flightsim programs. Given that D:/ is the boot drive for FSX, should the Opus Software folder go there or on C:/ ? I have it on D:/ and am being told it is in Demo mode. Thanks for your fantastic program, I just need it to run Unlimited to be a fully satisfied customer. Cheers Bob York 1121942-JXYQ8T**
  12. The program comes with an in depth PDF instruction and configuration manual. If you look at mutleyshangar.com reviews page under developer stevedx10' you will find a detailed review of his DX10 Fixer. That should ease your qualms. Bob Sent from my tablet thingy!
  13. DX10 Fixer has a one click DX9/DX10 switch feature. I have only just purchased the program, and I am still learning all the options. You can set profiles for different program's and lots of other stuff. I have no regrets with DX10. Overall FSX performance and visuals are great. Bob Sent from my tablet thingy!
  14. Be sure you have the latest version of both files and FSUIPC. Get them from a reliable source, e.g. Vatsim. Clean up your FSX hard drive by getting rid of all junk files and then do a Defrag. It is finicky, but follow the instructions carefully. If you miss any step you will encounter problems. I used the destructions on the VatPac forum. Bob Sent from my tablet thingy!
  15. You change the value in the main FSX setup menu. There is a section where you choose millibars/inches and metres/feet or a hybrid mix. The normal for Australian airspace is millibars/feet I believe. Bob Sent from my tablet thingy!
