Hi wondered if any one has any suggestions on how to fix. I have them ticked in settings and they used to work fine however appear to have completely disappeared now. I am not sure exactly when it happened about 3 months ago possibly when I undated my nvidia driver. Any one else experienced this any any suggestions on how to get them back ?

If you're running in DX10 mode tooltips vanish (no idea why). Try DX9 mode and see if that brings them back.

Does this happen with all aircraft.  Some FS9 port-overs may not have them.  Have you tried in windowed mode?

Hi , yes all aircraft.  I fly full screen only, run over 3 monitors GTX 680 I will try windowed mode but pretty sure it dosnt work in that either.  I cant recall exactly when it happened  just noticed one day they had disappeared.  About the same time I noticed if i pull up a 2d panel , such as the default gps,  the frst time I do all the monitors go black for about a second,  then all back to normal.  only happens the first time i bring the panel up,  again I think this was as a result of installing a new nvidia driver to paly BF4 ,  should of stayed on my old one!

UPDATE;  First thing I tried when i got home today was changing to WINDOWED Mode  and Yes  in windowed mode the Tooltips do appear !!

 

Does this help in solving this mystery ?

 

Would love to have them back as I onloy fly in  Full Screen as much smoother and better frame rates !

You are flying in DX10 mode.

 

If you want tool tips in Full Screen you will have to use DX9.

Hi Joe I do not have dx10 preview ticked. I have none of the issues other dx10 users have ??

Is there some way of fsx switching itself into dx10 mode without it being ticked. ? Eg a cfg setting? A nvidia inspector setting ?
