May 23, 201412 yr This is the beast I plan on getting to have a perfect sim - what do you think - right around the corner also http://rog.asus.com/296652014/news/rog-announces-the-pg278q-swift-27-inch-wqhd-g-sync-gaming-monitor/ http://www.pcper.com/news/General-Tech/CES-2014-ASUS-ROG-SWIFT-PG278Q-120-Hz-G-Sync Rich Sennett
May 23, 201412 yr Please let us know how it goes when you get it. I'll also get a G-Sync monitor in the future, but I'll wait for 4K.
May 23, 201412 yr Author There is also g-sync kit to upgrade certain monitors without having to buy a whole new monitor but looking into that now - about 299 dollars for kit - I will but the complete monitor and sell my asus PB278Q 2560x1440 I just bought - its great but I want a turn key monitor - will let you know how it is - this is a game changer no fiddling with cfg files as the main issues as we all know is tearing and lag which should be gone with this new technology - I known about it for a while but now they are almost ready to buy so I thought I would post this topic to get some discussion on it Rich Sennett
May 23, 201412 yr Hello Rich g-sync technology is truly impressive . but the only problem is that you must maintain a steady 30 fps for it to apply the g-sync technology if you went lower that that it will not be as smooth ( i have read about this on an article ) . which is hard to maintain in fsx in heavy weather cheers Faisal Altheyab
May 23, 201412 yr Author "Hello Rich " Good info but P3D I am getting very high fps and this will be the icing on the cake - keep the thoughts coming as I am new to this and any positives and negatives welcomed, also it appears that the upgrade kt is only for 24" monitor right now FYI - notice the very high res is only in asus model - and having that res now I think I should opt for that as it is amazing ASUS ROG SWIFT PG278Q – 2560×1440- 27-inch – 120+Hz BenQ XL2720G – 1920×1080 – 27-inch – 144Hz – 3D Vision BenQ XL2420G – 1920×1080 – 24-inch – 144Hz – 3D Vision Philips 272G5DYEB – 1920×1080 – 27-inch – 144Hz ViewSonic VX2457GML – 1920×1080 – 24-inch Rich Sennett
May 23, 201412 yr you didn't tell me that you're using p3d . with p3d i think you can easily do 30 fps as you said . The asus monitor is the best one mainly cause of the resolution it can display , man you're are going to have a great time flying the T7 on p3d v2 with the g-sync monitor ( im jealous already  ) cheers Faisal Altheyab
May 23, 201412 yr Author "you didn't tell me that you're using p3d . with p3d i think you can easily do 30 fps as you said" Climb on board P3D is amazing buddy Rich Sennett

May 28, 201412 yr Will g sync work in windowed mode? Will g sync work in windowed mode? Exclusive fullscreen only so far, but that might change in the future.
May 28, 201412 yr Exclusive fullscreen only so far, but that might change in the future.Bummer so no go for p3d. Matt Wilson
May 28, 201412 yr Author "Exclusive fullscreen only so far, but that might change in the future." Are you saying because P3D does some sort off window mode thing compared to FSX full screen it will not work not sure what you are saying - thanks Rich Sennett
May 29, 201412 yr "Exclusive fullscreen only so far, but that might change in the future." Are you saying because P3D does some sort off window mode thing compared to FSX full screen it will not work not sure what you are saying - thanks Yes, the fullscreen mode in Prepar3D 2.2 is actually windowed mode with the borders removed. So this means G-Sync will not work with Prepar3D 2.2, unless it gains support for windowed mode.
