FRsCrew in P3D

Featured Replies

I just bought Fs2Crew for Majestic Dash 8 Q400. I have installed the Q400 in P3D. AFTER buying FS2Crew I realized that it could NOT find the Q400 as it is NOT in the FSX directory. Is there ANY way around this problem?

FS2Crew does not technically support P3D.

However, here's a trick.

Create an 'aircraft.cfg' file in this location.

Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\mjc8q400\aircraft.cfg

The FS2Crew installer checks to see if the 'aircraft.cfg' file is there to determine if you have the Majestic Dash 8 installed.

We had to do this because from time to time we'd get people who buy FS2Crew even though they don't own the aircraft.

Once the installer lets you proceed, you'll need to manually point the installer to P3D.

Then you will need to manually add the FS2Crew entries to the Panel.CFG file for the Majestic Dash 8.

There is a forum post a bit further down that covers which entries you need to add.

Best,

I might have solved it with another trick.

I edited the AppPath in the Registry to point to my P3D installation D:\P3D v2\

I then moved a copy of fsx.exe to my P3D root directory.

Now when I start Fs2Crew I get no error message about FSX not found.

Have NOT tested that yet but it might work.

Hi Jack,

The "set path tab" is in the FSXRegUtility.

Cheers,

Matt.

Hi Matt

No not here. When I run the FSXRegUtility it just flickers for a second and tells me that the installation folder i found, but nothing more. BUT it seems that my installation works all right.

But I have another problem. I have assigned the Key "C" (as suggestd in the manual) for opening/closing the Main Panel. Problem is that it opens when I click "C" but I can not close it by clicking the "C" again!!! What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for trying to help me.

Cheers

Jack

Press the "LK" button on the FS2Crew Main Panel.

By default, the panels are "locked" open.

This is because if you switch camera views, 2D panels will auto close... unless we force them open (locking).

FS2Crew does not technically support P3D.

Hi,

What is the policy of FS2Crew regarding P3D V2?

I'm considering to buy the DH4 voice edition for FSX, but in the near future (this year) I will migrate to P3D V2.

Therefore I don't want to invest again for a P3D version (if applicable)
