Very weird Air Condition problem

Featured Replies

Hi all!

So, in all my flights i've experienced an problem, the problem can come up around TOC or just in the middle of the flight.

My Co-Pilot's recall, is lighting "Air Cond" and after that message the aircraft starts to drop altitude, its not much, about 3000ft. It depends sometime.

Then its starts to get out of course and its just going an straight line and not turning on the curves when they should.

I have tried to engage Heading Select and make my own course but the aircraft won't respond and continues his little own way?

How is this possible? I know this is not an user error since i have done everything correctly in manual etc. Im using Fs2Crew as an addon.

I have also read many threads about this but nothing worked.

Please help me guys, im really frusterated.

Peace

/Jacob

Sure.

How about you provide some screenshots, and we'll see what we can figure out.

well making a video would help.

Do you have an ASUS motherboard?

Do you have an ASUS motherboard?

Yes i have, got the ASUS z87-A.

I recently experienced the same thing.  The Air Conditioning Auto mode would fail and then the autopilot would stop working correctly.

Earlier this year I built a new computer and used the ASUS Z87-Pro motherboard.  About two months after I started using the new computer, the system time stopped being correct.  I learned from several different forums that clock problems are fairly common on ASUS MBs.  I contacted PMDG and Ryan indicated that they make extensive use of the internal system clock and are very aware of the ASUS clock issues. Some of the symptoms that you and I experienced are well known to them; however, I was apparently the first to directly report autopilot problems.

I downloaded and installed the latest BIOS and cleaned out the CMOS memory using the jumper procedure in the ASUS user guide. I have had no clock issues and no problems with PMDG airplanes since then.

It might be worth looking at the system clock as the culprit in your case.

Oh okay! My clock is very wird, its starts to stop just randomly!

Thanks so much for the help! But how do i do the clean for the CMOS and the stuff like that? Could you please send me a tutorial since im bad at reinstalling and that kind of things!

On page 1-29 of your User Manual is the procedure for clearing the CMOS memory.  Once you find the right thingy on the motherboard, it's a simple matter of moving the cap from pins 1&2 to pins 2&3 for about ten seconds.  You then put the cap back on pins 1&2.  I also replaced the CMOS battery as a precaution.

Main thing is to set the correct time There are different sections in the BIOS to do this. For the rest, load optimal settings and save and exit. However you will want to learn a bit more about the BIOS if you want to get the most put of your PC hardware. And note that with ASUS motherboards this is a big issue for many and keeps reoccurring (BIOS clock can't keep time).
