June 10, 201411 yr Even if it's fast to change views you have to do an action, then swithch back to the ECL, tick the item in the ECL, then do the next action etc. In my case it takes more time than reading my paper flow document ;-) You're not really supposed to do it like that, though. Checklists exist to make sure critical items are set correctly during the appropriate phase of flight. You're not really supposed to read a checklist and THEN do the item. You're supposed to do all the items (this is called a "flow") and only then perform the checklist, verifying everything is as it is supposed to be. Certain flow items need to be done, but are not part of the checklists. So, you "should" verify every item on the checklist, but you're not really supposed to be manipulating anything in between items. (If all goes correctly, if you forgot something, you should of course adjust it.) Name available upon request
June 11, 201411 yr This is just me, but I do my pre-flight in a software like PFPX, then once I am in the cockpit I set up all the data I know from my pre flight. Then once I have gathered ATC clearance I enter that data. If a runway change occurs I simply adjust the figures. All the in between I use the check list that comes from Boeing, mixed in with a few SOPs I like from Air Canada. I hope I haven't forgotten anything.

I'm pretty sure I'd had the beta version of the 777 for maybe a week by that point - clearly still getting used to the flows, so I used the ECL as a prompt for flows more than I should - and someone commented on the first requests video that I was doing it wrong...you know...because in trying to show people all of the features they requested, I was really going for technical accuracy, too... June 11, 201411 yr I have my PMDG 777 load at APU-ON state which is a state I saved myself (since Cold/Dark has ILS frequency bug). So once my load state is fired up I basically go like this. Overhead Panel Top to Bottom and Left to Right ADIRU > On APU > Already ON Emer Lights > Armed and Closed Service Interphone Switch > (Not sure if it's really necessary but I always turn it ON) Hydraulics > Turn ON (when I say turn On I mean move to AUTO) Seat Belts > Auto Fuel Pumps > I leave them OFF at this stage and only turn them ON just before pushback and engine start Beacon and Logo Lights > ON L Pack/R Pack > Auto After so many flights doing all this above takes about 1-2 min for me. Then >Talk to ATC for Clearance and Departure Runway > Listen to ATIS for Altimeter (although it can be accurately set if you even look at the Yellow line PFD) > Go to FMC and do all the FMC Stuff > Set Speed and Initial altitude knobs. Turn on FD. >Set the pitch trim > TCAS to TA/RA > Close doors, Remove chocks, > Push back and engine start >Set Autobrake to RTO > Taxi to runway and at hold point Set Take off flaps, >Turn on Strobe and Runway Turnoff lights >Arm LNAV, VNAV >Taxi into Position and Take off Ammar Khan
June 15, 201411 yr Author As promised to 777simmer, here is a revised flow (Powerpoint format). I publish a new link because the forum won't allow me to edit my initial message. Most suggestions have been included. Of course it is not the ultimate flow so feel free to customize to your personal taste and need (softcore, mediumcore, hardcore simmer ^_^ ) TONY on FS2024Black Square Bonanza & Baron • A2A Comanche • Flyboy Rans S6S • CAS Piper J-3 CubPMDG 777-200ER and 777-300ER, 737-800 BBJ2 • Fenix A320 • iniBuilds A350FSUIPC • Active Sky FS • Chase Plane • Flow • FS2Crew • FSTramp • GSXAlienware R16 i7-14700KF 5.60 GHz l 32 GB DDR5 l RTX 4070 Ti Super l 32" 4K OLED G-SYNC 240 Hz
