P3D list of biggest fps offenders

Recommended Posts

The best improvement so far for me is the precision X software combined with adaptive VSync and limit 58 FPS in NI

I do not understand this on my mother board which is a asus P8P67 Delux, Hyper-threading is on or off.I set it to on it is set to off by default ,I have seen no auto setting,is this a new function? am I missing something  my board is about 3 yrs old, also under what situation does Hyper threading  decide to become active and how do you know it is active without using Task manager to check ?,just wondering if it could decide to switch its self off with out anyone knowing which could effect the AM setting  thanks for reading

If you go into Task Manager, how many cores are displayed? I am curious.

As Bert pointed out you said you use "AffinityMask=84" which tells P3D to use 8 cores but you said "I have 4 cores and HT off" which is essentially like an i5.

I am not saying your not getting the result you say you are. I am wondering though is HT really off because later you come back and say HT to AUTO in your BIOS which means the BIOS is deciding based on other parameters if HT is better on or off every time you boot. So if you could check Task Manager and report how many cores are displayed, then it will be interesting to try and figure out how Affinity 84 would even work.

Based on my testing, AM 84 on a non-HT quad will result in FSX running on a single core, the third core.

The lower bits matter:   0100
