Spent some time in War Thunder recently. All I can say is I was soooo glad to go back to FSX, despite the lower fps and somewhat lesser graphics. I'd like 60fps, fancier lighting, better particle effects, and sharper textures. But I LOVE interacting with a living breathing plane in a fully fleshed out aviation world, and all of the challenges it brings. I can't tell you how much of a relief and a joy it was to go back to FSX after just a couple hours of War Thunder, as smooth and pretty as it was. Like slipping back into a favorite chair, where your butt fits perfectly into the worn-in dimples. Ahhhhh, so much better.

It amazes me that this many years into FSX, with all the growth in PC capability, that we are still chasing the holy grail on FPS and OOMs in a 50 dollar piece of software.    I myself have hundreds of dollars i add ons, and gigabytes of installed terrain, mesh, aircraft, airports, etc. etc.     I think we are all crazy.

Thanks for making me laugh!
