Not for everyone. Didn't work well for me.

Windows 7. Why mess with the Win 8 Joystick issue just to get the "latest" OS.

Did you calibrate your axis's through it?

Windows 7 support ends in 6 months.

Unless you want hyperthreading, save some money and get an i5 instead of an i7. As long as you get the K version then you can overclock. The money you save can go to extra cooling.

And Windows 7 support does not end in 6 months, the security updates and support will run for another 5 years. It is just new features that will not get produced. There will be no SP2 for Windows 7.

Yes, even with FSUIPC I wasn't very successful. Prepar3d is the only thing that fixed the issue, the joystick keeps working even with Win8

Ah thanks for clarifying. I thought it was a bit premature.

Also I do a lot of 3D modeling and video editing

HT would be beneficial.

Oh, I see. I wonder how much FPS I will get. I'm just hoping to get around 30 fps in FSX with addons such as the PMDG 777 on any advanced scenery. Any rig that can do that is a winner.

I also hope a new system will help reduce the CTD as it has ruined my flights a lot in the past.

It's not really rig itself that will help with the ctds but how it is setup and configured. Follow NickN's fsx bible and you'll be good to go.

Thanks, I will check that. I haven't played at lot P3D but I haven't noticed any CTD's with it yet so it may not be hardware related hopefully.

Just a suggestion. You'd get a good night for $1700. Said very much tongue in cheek.

I was hoping for several good nights at least!
