July 19, 201411 yr Commercial Member Why do i always overshoot the runway in my ils landings?! Fly tutorial #1 and then report back. Also, it's a forum requirement to place your name in your posts. Please do so for future posts. Kyle Rodgers
July 23, 201411 yr 1. Your speed is too fast? 2. You're landing too far down the runway? 3. You don't use reverse thrust? 4. The runway is too short? Ralph Freshour www.GMTPilots.com

July 24, 201411 yr Actually, in all seriousness, what John and Matias say would point to a likely cause, providing it wasn't something obvious like Ralph mentioned. Incorrect afcad data, I think, could cause the problem. I recently experienced a similar issue, somewhere, can't remember, where my landing approach was at an angle to the runway. So there are a number of causes which you could investigate, but I suggest you do so before having any beers HowardMSI Mag B650 Tomahawk MB, Ryzen7-7800X3D CPU@5ghz, Arctic AIO II 360 cooler, Nvidia RTX4090 GPU, 32gb DDR5@6000Mhz, SSD/2Tb+SSD/500Gb+OS, Corsair 1000W PSU, LG Ultragear 48"4K, MFG Crosswinds, TQ6 Throttle, Fulcrum One YokeMy FlightSim YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@skyhigh776
July 30, 201411 yr Excess speed is usually the culprit. You have to actively manage the energy on the approach. Then the correct speed on short final.. IE: Vref+5 unless real windy, then I usually run Vref+10. I'm using the HGS most of the time, which makes it a piece of cake as long as you hold the correct speed. And don't hold off letting it float down the runway for a greaser. Just a slight pitch up at about 20 feet or so and fly it onto the runway. The 800 in particular can be a bit slippery. Maybe the 900 too.. The 700 seems a tad less so, and the non winglet 600 I use the least slippery of the bunch. It's basically like a 500 with a glass cockpit to me.. Mark Keith
July 30, 201411 yr The NGX is certainly a lot more slippery than many other of it's contenders.
