Okay. I have FBW trim speed set to 180kts and flying 176kts. So trim is slight nose down. Now I want to trim further nose down so I push the trim button. But instead of increasing from 180 to let's say 190 it's blipping back to 176 and then increasing.

What I expect:

aircraft @176 and fbw @180 kts

trimming further nose down so fbw should increase to let's say 190 or so.

What I get:

aircraft @176 and fbw @180kts

now trimming and fbw speed is "blipping" back to 176 and only then is increasing while I press the button.

So the "blip" trimming is occuring everytime even if I press the button for more than 1 second but it shouldn't.

Edit: Following older PMDG tips I have the repeat rate of the trim buttons at 50%.

Well this is the quote for which i had posted a reply.Looks like I misquoted Kevin's post. Here is what I meant:

1. The OP's understanding is that the FBW trim speed bug should move to 190.My understanding is that it will move to 176 first and then move to 190 (if he has continued trimming). As mentioned by Ryan in one of the threads, if the difference betweeen the FBW trim speed and your current airspeed is less than 5knts then it will first jump to the current airspeed.

2. This seems to be the case here. The FBW speed is 180 and current airspeed is 176. So if he does a blip trim it will first move to 176.If he continues trimming then it will move to 190.

EDIT: Found out about the double tap on space bar .Looks like it needs to have shortcuts settings enabled. :)

Thanks,

It does.  It's enabled by default, too.

EDIT:

haha - gotcha - still, you must've turned it off at some point, because it's on by default.

I was putting a full stop without entering any text in the box..so it did not work in-spite of being enabled. Clever..haha

Just reposting this reply from Ryan from another thread(just in case if it helps):

"Regarding the trim moving backwards - if current ref speed is within 5 knots of the current airspeed, it will reset to the current speed first regardless of which direction you push the trim in. The real airplane actually does this (blip trim). I think you're probably overreacting to it just because you can see it happening due to the presence of the -FBW marker. 5 knots is a barely perceptible trim change in this airplane and having it jump back down or up for a second by 5 knots or less and then start trimming in the commanded direction. In the real airplane there is no -FBW marker, it's all done by the pressure feel on the yoke and there's not this super precision type thing going on with trying to match some marker on the PFD to an airspeed."
