July 30, 201411 yr trial, update to 1.3.0.1 No matter what I do according to the manual I cannot get a response from delivery. Mic works well with Windows voice recognition I get a response from Ground, they tell me to go the clearance with all the nice printou of exactly what I said in the box, but with the same wordings elicits no response ever from clearance All freqs are visible in the ATC window and set right. Nothing for altimeter request as well CYHZ 123.95 Would love to use this program if it works.... re-installed as 1.3.0 same problem, recognised by ground ignored by clearance.
July 30, 201411 yr Author been posted for a few hours and not even one person viewed it? This app should be more popular than that it is fun
July 30, 201411 yr The only thing I can think of is the timing of when you press the mic button and talking and releasing the mic button. You can adjust the timing of when you press the mic and talk. And have you set it to en-us and not en-uk I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg
July 30, 201411 yr Commercial Member John, Pete's advice is good. I would add that you need to wait a split second before speaking after you press the mic button and then wait another split second at the end before releasing it so Pilot2ATC can hear your entire statement. I just went to Halifax and had no problems with Clearance Delivery. It's also possible there's something unique in your settings that's throwing it off. If you want to send me a screenshot with your radio panel and map showing, I might can diagnose the issue. email it to [email protected]. Thanks, Dave
July 30, 201411 yr Author Ill try that later (just got up) The thing is that when I switch to ground I get an immediate response without any changes in technique. Will let you know
July 30, 201411 yr Author Thanks for the help I got it working flawlessly What I did was buy a headset cause before I was using a Shure studio microphone working though one audio interface and the speakers were set up for another soundcard because the mic had a different input plug, .... The match was not matching all the time, just sometimes The cheaper all-in-one headset works fine using the on-board audio duplex mode of my ASUS all the time Thanks and GREAT PROGRAM
July 30, 201411 yr Author Now it keeps on telling me to contact GANDER Domestic on 125.07 but you cannot dial that; only 125.075
July 30, 201411 yr Commercial Member John, Could you post the text from the speech window the next time you have this issue. That might help diagnose it. You can click in the speech window and then do Ctl-A Ctl-C to copy the text and then email it to me at [email protected] or post it here. Thanks,Dave John, 125.07 is the same as 125.075. Controllers shorten the verbal frequency to two decimal places. In fact, many, if not most, radio stacks do not display the 3rd decimal place. This will occur any time the frequency ends in .x25 or .x75. Hope this helps, Dave
July 31, 201411 yr Author OK Working more clearly now as I progress myself. It was the "subsequent Center frequencies" which dont really require any comms I am doing an Atlantic crossing to BIRK from CYYT and the program has been asking me to change frequencies every 3 minutes, a bit unreal Quite a few changes, but I realize I don't have to until nearing TOD and then approach I am also realizing you cannot speak until spoken to sometime enroute Simulator ConnectedRecognition Engine InstalledGrammars LoadedGroundOpsBeech One Two OneAircraft calling SAINT JOHNS GROUND , you are on the wrong frequency.EnRouteGroundOpsBeech One Two One Request I F R ClearanceBeech One Two One Cleared as filed to Bravo India Romeo Kilo. July 31, 201411 yr Commercial Member John, The interval for Center handoffs is one of the configuration options so that users can set it up for the type aircraft and flight they are going on. In the Configuration window, Misc Settings tab, adjust Center Radius to 150 or 200 NM if you're flying a long flight in an airliner or other fast aircraft. You can also adjust this mid-flight so you'll get more calls while over land and fewer over the ocean. You can speak to any of the controllers at any time, you just need to be sure and request something they can handle. Using the Grammar Helper, accessed with the "?" key next to the speech text window, select the controller you are connected to and review the phrases they can handle. Any of them that are a Request should be responded to. You can also use the requests listed for "All" controllers. If you don't get an answer, check to see if it recognized your call. It will print what it heard, not always what you said, in green in the speech text window. If it mis-heard you or did not hear you at all, repeat the transmission. Rarely, the system can be overwhelmed by the SIM (usually using most of the resources available) Pilot2ATC and something like those wonderful "background" anti-virus tasks that take over the CPU and Disk. This may cause a slow-down that inhibits speech recognition. For Approach, there is an Approach Request that allows you to request the type of approach you desire. If on an IFR flight, and you just check in with Approach control with your altitude, the default approach is an ILS if available for the active runway or vectors to a visual straight in. If you want something else, use the Approach Request call and ask for a VOR approach, for example. Hope this clarifies things. Dave
August 1, 201411 yr Author It has recently become much easier to use (also see: last sentence below) My initial problem was in my speech pattern, I was being way to careful and phonetically crippled Just talk normal is the trick When i over-emphasized like this: Al---Pha,,,,,,Li----ma.......Delll---ta being way to careful at exaggerated articulations, it would hear a string maybe like this; "al fa li ma del ta", and who can make any sense of that without analysis. But when I simply spit out at normal speech "Alpha.Lima.Delta" without unnaturally trying to include an "obvious" dead space between each word, and without over-clarifying individual syllables, it caught it right off Oh, and did I forget to say: I'm reading the manual
August 1, 201411 yr Commercial Member Yep, using voice can be sometime over complicated, like you have found out, either not talking normally or the other one is talking to fast. Bet we've all done the swearing at the controller, the wife sometimes says, 'its 'not real, calm down' What not real yea right, little does she know ..and when on VATSIM and you say ' honey, this is a real person'...and then get her to say hello to the controller and watch her face as the controller replies..... Oh, my wife is one of the voice on MCE now...so if you have MCE you can her her, plus also my Daughter. Things we do for our hobby Clive Joy
August 3, 201411 yr Author This issue has been totally resolved by increasing the time % settings in the config I also must say that I purchased the license tot his great software and am using it without flaw see also this http://forum.avsim.net/topic/448278-voice-control-specifics/
