August 27, 201411 yr KFC... It'd be nice to think of a cargo airline dedicated to transporting Kentucky Fried Chicken around the world, wings on the wing - but I do know that 'Purolator' are a Canadian transport/courier company! The JustFlight 727-200 Professional package comes with a livery for 'KFC Purolator Cargo', but Googling finds no other reference to them as a current or defunct air cargo carrier. Anyone know anything about them? I have a note from somewhere (I am not sure where I found it now) that they are/were based at CYLW & CYHM... Who is 'KFC' here? http://www.avcanada.ca/forums2/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=27742 Again, Googling only gets chicken references (of course).. Thanks, Martin Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
August 27, 201411 yr KFC = Kelowna Flightcraft of Kelowna, British Columbia Canada. Google that and you'll find lots! Mark
August 27, 201411 yr Kelowna Flight Craft is the airline that has the contract with Purolator as Purolator doesn't operate any aircraft. Of note they are also the company that serviced Donald Trump's 727 when he had that. Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me
August 27, 201411 yr Yep, KFC is Kelowna Flightcraft. As for the Purolator part, they provide the aircraft and associated services for flying the cargo around. http://www.flightcraft.ca/flight-operations.asp
August 28, 201411 yr Unfortunately for KFC, the Canada Post contract (which by virtue kind of includes Purolator, as it's majority owned by Canada Post) is soon to transition to CargoJet, another Canadian cargo operator. I wonder what will happen with KFC's DC-10's :( Patrick Houghton
August 29, 201411 yr A friend of mine used to work for them as a flight attendant when they had Greyhound Air so they are a company that have had a few setbacks but always bounce back. They also have another side of the business other then cargo. Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me
August 29, 201411 yr Well the flight operations division has moved to Flair, which is pretty busy on its own. Greyhound Air was only a couple 27's which were transferred to it's Flight Ops after anyways. Kind of tough to keep all those Convairs and 727s busy after things go to CargoJet. No doubt many employees will transfer to CargoJet, and I'm sure the DC-10s will stay busy with Sub Charters. Unfortunately I think it'll be the end of the 27s and Convairs. Patrick Houghton
