August 30, 201411 yr Hi, for a couple of weeks now I have a strange problem: one of the two Com 1 frequencies is always of by 0.01, while the other one is fine. This offset means that I cannot use the second frequency, which is particularly a problem during final approach on Vatsim when you have to contact tower. The problem affects almost all planes, but a few advanced addon planes like the Majestic Dash 8 are OK. Did anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions how to fix it? I already looked into fsx.cfg and the last saved flight, but there is nothing in it. Thanks, Peter
August 30, 201411 yr Administrators I read where some guys used the Cessna 172 radio panel in their FA-18 aircraft when the freq. was off by .01 They said it fixed their problem. August 30, 201411 yr Look in My Documents -> Flight Simulator X files for your saved flights. Find the saved flight you're using and open the .FLT file in notepad. You should see something like this: [Avionics.0]Comm1Active=122.800Comm1Standby=127.600Comm2Active=122.000Comm2Standby=122.025 This is probably where FSX is getting the wrong frequency. Check your saved flights, and your default flight as well. Edit and save. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
August 31, 201411 yr Com 1 frequencies is always of by 0.01 Are you sure? Because there's only 4 choices. I guess depending on how the gauge is coded 121.125 could be displayed as 121.12 or 121.13, either should work. regards, Joe The best gift you can give your children is your time.
August 31, 201411 yr Author @Hook: thanks a lot for your help, you pointed me in the right direction. The problem was surprisingly stubborn, though: after I edited the files I had both frequencies off by 0.01 in the Razbam Metroliner, but only one frequency off in other planes. The problem was only resolved when I deleted the files. @Joe: it was part of the problem that frequencies only advance by 0.025. After starting a flight it was at, say, 118.01, I then could only change it to 118.026, 118.051 and so on (some planes show all three digits). My default flight was with the Metroliner, maybe their systems model cuts off the frequencies at the wrong digit. Thanks, Peter
