September 3, 201411 yr Hi guys and hope u well I have a home cockpit and I use the samsung 46 inch plasma tv as a OVERHEAD panel (I drag the overhead panel of the PMDG-MD11 into it) I connect it to my PC via HDMI (there is no DVI port in it), and I have noticed that the reading and the texts in the oveehead panel are not so clear like in a LCD monitor (I have it as a pedestal screen, its LG 32 LCD tv and its so clear, no blurry and all the texts and shortcuts of the OH panel are readable well). Can anyone help me how I can fix that, I think its FSX bug, really the readings are so hard to read and the shortcuts of the overhead panel is hard to read, I have change the text scaling but this fix is for the desktop, is anyone can give any hints at least to find the right solution. keep in mind, its a samsung TV 46 plasma. THX.
September 3, 201411 yr Does this TV have 1920x1080 resolution, and is FSX/video driver set to that resolution for that monitor? Bert
September 3, 201411 yr Author Does this TV have 1920x1080 resolution, and is FSX/video driver set to that resolution for that monitor? I set it to 1280x768, I think sure that the TV have a 1920x1080 !!!
September 3, 201411 yr You use a 46" plasma screen as an overhead panel? I suspect the only reason why it's so blurry is the distance you are viewing. I guess you must be within 2-3ft? A 46" TV is not designed to be viewed at such a close distance. September 3, 201411 yr Author I am not using multi-monitor, but can you not set the resolution for each attached monitor individually?I am not able to set the resolution, I am only can resize the screen which I use to fly, its not a true resolution setting, like I say its only resizing. so the resolution I think is taken from the desktop. What other resolution is there to set?its not a true resolution, its the resplution of each monitor on the desktop. its not FSX resolution. I use 1920x750 for the projector.
September 3, 201411 yr Do you actually have six physical monitors attached to your system? What are they attached to? Bert
September 4, 201411 yr Author Do you actually have six physical monitors attached to your system? What are they attached to? they are attached to two GTX cards.
September 4, 201411 yr OK, in the nvidia control panel, are there not resolution definitions for the screens? I may be totally wrong here, but surely it is possible to have different resolution monitors attached.. Bert
September 4, 201411 yr I think I now understand what the OP is saying - I've believe I've experienced this same problem with a single monitor setup. When I attach my Sony Bravia HDTV directly to my GPU using HDMI, somewhere, something downscales the resolution to about 1/4 of what it should be. All indications in FSX and windows control panel (and the signal being received by the HDTV indicate it's in 1920X1080), yet the image on the screen is far less. In my normal setup, I route the HDMI to a Sony 3.1 sound system, then daisy chain to the monitor via HDMI and this works perfectly. On the PC, the device shows up as AVAMP (not Sony Bravia) and I have no difficulties. Direct connect to the TV and it's completely messed up. I have never been able to resolve this. I suspect it may be some for of downscaling of the HDMI stream for Piracy protection that Sony, NVidia or MS has implemented. Samsung too?
