Okay, we can work with that. MSVCR100.dll looks to be a Microsoft C++ Program error. I would download the most recent version of these. The uiautomationcore.dll failure is likely because you have installed an improper version of the file or shouldn't have it installed at all. I don't believe Win8 requires it, so delete it if you have it and report back.

Where do you recommend getting that "most recent version"? I haven't added the uiautomationcore dll when it crashed. It was a fresh FSX install and opened it for the first time then it crashed after a minute.

I do not see where MSVCR100.dll caused a crash. This dll is from Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 which is not needed to run FSX/Acceleration. It is primarily used by PMDG, P3D, ASN, and ORBX. The uiautomationcore.dll is a system file and is required for Windows to run. It is part of the Microsoft.net (dotnet) framework package. The version that crashed was a system version and not one in the main fsx folder (according to the crash report, there is no uiautomationcore.dll module in the main fsx folder (which is good as it only fixes one type of crash - fsx menu).

Regards,

FSX and Acceleration require Microsoft.net 2.0 to run properly (Version 1.1 is installed with FSX but 2.0 works). Microsoft.net's are not backward compatible. So, look in C:\Windows\Microsoft.net\Framework and make sure you see 2.0 (if 1.1 is there too, it's okay. Do not remove). The uiautomationcore.dll is part of the Microsoft.net framework packages and is installed in your Windows\System folder. the dll is used by Microsoft.net packages for memory management. Do not remove it. If you do not have Microsoft.net 2.0 installed, then you need to look at the AVSIM CTD Guide at the right of this forum under Hot Spots and look for Microsoft.net. It has a verification tool to make sure it is installed correctly. If it is not there, you can also go on the Internet and download and install it. The guide has a link.

The second crash report indicates you received a StackHash crash (the digits next to StackHash indicates the memory address where it occurred. Most likely your settings are set too high or you have a bad overclock (as you stated you just reinstalled FSX. The AVSIM CTD Guide provides probable causes and some known fixes. The bad overclock (or bad BIOS setting) can also be attributed to the uiautomationcore.dll faulting module.

I see that Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 w/SP1 is installed. Only problem I see is that they replaced some of the 2005 modules (.dll's) with a later version and I do not understand why Microsoft is trying to update a really, really old Microsoft Visual. I suggest you reinstalled Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 w/SP1. This should replace some of those modules that have the wrong version. Each module should look something like the following:

C:\Windows\WinSxS\x86_microsoft.vc80.crt_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.6195_none_d09154e044272b9a\MSVCP80.dll.

There are several other modules that end with an 80 like above MSVCP80.dll. Those are the ones that should all have version 6195 in the version number. Your fsx may be looking for a certain version and cannot find it. Microsoft Visuals are not backward compatible either.

Hope this helps.

EDIT: Apologize Jeremy. I see now where he indicated a MSVCR100.dll crash using P3D. Some have fixed this problem by going into the main p3d folder, right clicking on P3d.exe, selecting Properties, and make sure it shows that the app will be run as Administrator. He can also right click on the P3D icon and select Run as Administrator. The same goes with FSX. Right click that icon and run it as an Administrator.

I see version 2.0.50727 and version 1.0 as well.

I have not overclocked anything yet.

I suggest you reinstalled Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 w/SP1

That's done.

Some have fixed this problem by going into the main p3d folder, right clicking on P3d.exe, selecting Properties, and make sure it shows that the app will be run as Administrator.

I now have done as suggested. I did it for FSX when it crashed but not for P3d.

Thanks a lot for the help,

I just had another CTD with faulting module uiautomationcore.dll even though I had not added it yet in FSX folder. Then I did add it and got another one with the following:

wrong version of uiautomationcore.dll - oops!

Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com

This is your problem. You cannot just throw anything into your fsx folder and expect it to magically work. I would leave the uiautomationcore.dll from your main fsx folder as it only fixes the menu error (where you right click at least 20 times in the FSX menu area; sometimes requires more right clicks; I'm still right clicking and cannot replicate this crash and I have do not have the uiautomationcore.dll in my main fsx folder).

There are several causes of the stackhash and I see this time in the signature of the crash it references ntdll.dll which indicates a bad overclock. Make sure that memory you have installed has the correct voltage.

I downloaded this one from an FS site where it says it fixes the issue.

I see. But stated above, I haven't overclocked anything. I don't really know how to. But I believe my Graphics card may be already overclocked from the store. Also I'm getting this on my pcpartpicker:

"The Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-2400 Memory operating voltage of 1.65V exceeds the Intel Haswell Refresh CPU recommended maximum of 1.5V+5% (1.575V). This memory module may run at a reduced clock rate to meet the 1.5V voltage recommendation, or may require running at a voltage greater than the Intel recommended maximum."

I don't doubt it.

I haven't overclocked anything. I don't really know how to. But I believe my Graphics card may be already overclocked from the store. Also I'm getting this on my pcpartpicker

You can go into your BIOS and change the voltage from 1.65 to 1.50. I think this is causing the StackHash. You have a very nice system otherwise!!

are you using the 737 ngx

I haven't reinstalled yet as I'm trying to get rid of the CTDs first. I'll probably install each addon and test it for hours before I install the next just so I know they're not causing any issues.

I've set the memory to run at 1600Mhz and lower the voltage to 1.50. I'm testing it right now and will let you know how it goes!

Thanks very much for the help everyone.

I just had 2 CTDs. One while uiautomationcore.dll inside fsx folder and another after I've removed it. Both are caused by the uiautomationcore.dll. For now I can think the StackHash memory CTDs are at least solved but this one still remains.

I've also installed few addons to test.

I just had 2 CTDs. One while uiautomationcore.dll inside fsx folder and another after I've removed it. Both are caused by the uiautomationcore.dll. For now I can think the StackHash memory CTDs are at least solved but this one still remains.

I've also installed few addons to test.

Glad the StackHash went away. Looks like it was the memory voltage that caused the problem.

The uiautomationcore.dll that is the faulting module belongs to Windows 8.1 which is okay. Perhaps it got corrupted. It did load okay while FSX was being loaded (Module 140). Please run scannow to see if any system files are corrupted or you are missing one - http://pcsupport.about.com/od/toolsofthetrade/ht/sfc-scannow.htm.

In post 32, I asked if you checked the C:\Windows\Microsoft.net\Framework version 2.0 was installed. You also need 3.5 and 4.0 now that the PMDG737 are installed. Try placing the following version of the uiautomationcore.dll in your main fsx directory if the above recommendation to scan for corrupted files does not fix your problem - http://www.search-dll.com/dll-files/download/uiautomationcore.dll.html.

Hope this helps.

UiAutomationcore.dll v6.0.5840.16386 should be placed in the FSX program files folder (where we find FSX.EXE), dlls found there by FSX are loaded first. If it's not found there then UiAutomationcore.dll that comes with Windows will be loaded and in Win7 and Win8 they are not strictly compatible with FSX.

Respectfully Steve, I have never had uiautomationcore.dll in my FSX program files folder and have never had a crashed because it was not there. I have tried to replicate the menu crash that the uiautomationcore.dll was advertised to fix and no joy. It does not fix any and all crashes. We have proof in this forum beyond any doubt that the uiautomationcore.dll in the main fsx folder does not fix all crashes and, in fact, causes crashes. When removed, crashes go away for many. Maybe back in 2007 when this "fix" was first introduced it worked but I have serious questions that it works on the latest and greatest computer systems. There is no magic bullet that fixes every FSX crash.
