September 12, 201411 yr Please would someone kindly advise: I have a Win7 PC with FSX installed on a (C:) SSD drive that's filling up fast. I also have a 2TB (J:) drive. I have just installed MyTraffic X onto my J: Drive, where in readiness I created a folder location - J: MyTrafficX. I noted in the MyTrafficX Forum thread (http://forum.simflig...-another-drive/) that Burkhard says: "All it requires is that you set the path to the MyTraffic folder in fsx.cfg properly, and add the MyTraffic folder as scenery" Unfortunately, though I first asked the question there, I'm getting little support response from the MyTraffic Forum. Please can anyone advise me what and where is the required "set the path" change in the fsx.cfg to which he is referring. After installuing MyTrafficX to the (J:) drive, my FSX.cfg SimobjectsPaths section currently reads: SimObjectPaths.0=SimObjects\Airplanes SimObjectPaths.1=SimObjects\Rotorcraft SimObjectPaths.2=SimObjects\GroundVehicles SimObjectPaths.3=SimObjects\Boats SimObjectPaths.4=SimObjects\Animals SimObjectPaths.5=SimObjects\Misc SimObjectPaths.6=MyTraffic\Aircraft Is this where in FSX.cfg the required change needs to be applied and what should it read please? When I then go on to install the MyTraffic database into the FSX library, do I simply navigate to and select the J: MyTrafficX Folder during the add to library step, or do I need to select a sub folder within J: MytrafficX does anyone know please? Thanks for your kind guidance with this. Andrew
September 12, 201411 yr You have to install MyTrafficX in the same folder as FSX. I tried to install it on a separate drive and was unsuccessful. September 12, 201411 yr SimObjectPaths.6=MyTraffic\Aircraft This leads FSX to look in the main FSX folder for a folder named MyTraffic, with a folder named Aircraft in it containing all of the AI planes. You need to edit the path to the correct path. Assuming you installed to the root of J it would be... SimObjectPaths.6=J:\MyTraffic\Aircraft When I then go on to install the MyTraffic database into the FSX library, do I simply navigate to and select the J: MyTrafficX Folder during the add to library step, ... Yes, assuming there is a folder in the MyTrafficX folder named scenery that contains all of the *.bgl files. Hope this helps, Joe The best gift you can give your children is your time.
September 12, 201411 yr Author Thanks for the prompt response guys. I have typed the path as you suggested Joe ( backed up by a similar suggested response from Burkhard at MyTrafficX ). As a test I put this path into Explorer and it pointed me successfully to the correct Aircraft folder, so that looks Ok. The J: drive MyTrafficX folder does contain 'Scenery' with all of the *.bgl files therein so hope I'll be ok there too. Many thanks Andrew
September 12, 201411 yr Good to hear Andrew. One last bit of advice, when you add the MTX scenery to the Scenery Library place it just above the default entries and below any addon airports. If you leave it at the top you may see some odd stuff at your addon airports. regards, Joe The best gift you can give your children is your time.
