Night time texture too soon (pics)

Featured Replies

I'm getting this in late afternoon, which obviously looks wrong. Is there a way to delay the night textures?

There is no way to delay the textures except to adjust the time of day in FSX. FSX is not planetarium software!

If all other avenues have run out and you have the patience for it, you can try this 'ol faithful (below).  I haven't used this tweak, so can't verify it or what figures to use to get your desired outcome, but it is a published tweak.   You will need to add this entry to your [Graphics] section of your FSX Cfg.

Day_Threshold=32768

Night_Threshold=4096

(MANUAL CONFIG FILE ENTRY AFTER SERVICE PACK 1 – NOT IN PLACE BY DEFAULT

Allows the user to adjust the start/end of dusk and dawn textures. These represent the amount of 'ambient'

light at the ends of the day/night blend threshold. Zero is perfect dark, 65535 is full day sun at noon in the

summer. Acceptable entries are 0-65535. The values in the examples above are the default.)

If this is AS Night Environment, you have to turn it off for daytime flying.

No, its Miami X. Their site shows a similar pic but looks later in the day.

Just wanted to offer sometime more basic - just in case it was overlooked.

Ensure you're computer time is sync'd to the Internet, and that you have the correct time zone selected.  If FSX is set to use computer time, then it will auto adjust the time for the scenery locale for the correct time.  Example:  You live in Athens, but you're FSX flight is in Miami (GMT-4 I believe).  The Miami scenery will be set for the local time in Miami.

Not sure if this is germane or not, just wanted to offer it up - just in case.
