X-Plane 10 Winter Textures Freeware?

Looks great, does it work with simheaven?

 

Simheaven uses ortho photo scenery, so the scenery will be unaffected except for the trees -- these will look different. So the short answer is no,

Will it cover all the world with snow when it's winter? (Which is not really realistic)

And does it recognize the season depending on the area? for example when it's winter in Austrealia , it's summer in europe and vice versa.

 

No, it will not cover all with Snow. region_Winter.png controls where it will have snow. And you could change it. Autumn is different, as there is no region_Autumn.png which would control the Autumn.

 

1. Autumn will be everywhere

2. Winter only where you want it to be. PSD with worldmap is included to have the choice of snow ;-)

 

region_Winter.png controls the snow textures on ground, i have not yet tested with autumn, to create a file, but I think the logic is exactly this.

I found this in a youtube video. I didn’t know that winter textures had been made for X-plane 10 by someone. They look impressive. Has anyone had any experience with this? The website is in Russian but you can translate it with Google translate.

I see no transition in Winter and autumn textures when choosing different months.

X-Plane doesn't have any built-in hooks to trigger loading of different texture packs at different times of year. So you have to choose that manually by swapping files.

At least for trees, this worked automatic in XPL10. I think it's no problem use it in XPL11.
