hi all, with FS improving so much with all this very very talented freeware contributors to our hobby, just last night i was thinking (when taxing to the active) whether someone can come out with a program where we can imagine we have a FO sitting next to us and controlling the plane,i mean we get instructed for p/b and taxi to the runway and your "phantom" FO does it all for you, i mean is there a program out there which automatically controls your plane from p/b to taxi and even takeoff and you can just sit back and watch, then take control when ever you want to,the reason for this, is that i sometimes find it boring to p/b and taxi to the runway (especially big airports where your taxing for ever :( ) it would be kinda cool where you sit back and see your 'FO' doing it for you, and then taking off and the flap settings being done automatically while you look out your cockpit window seeing the earth pass by,what ya think?

Well I know that the PMDG 737 has an addon for it (an addon for an addon dear god what has the world come to!:9 ) called FS2Crew that simulates the FO, and the FA.

ya i know im reading up about it, but i was more after the automation, like i wanna my FO to take command for taxi/ push / toff / land etc ...

Radar Contact v.3 allows you to have the co-pilot fly the plane and handle radio communications. It also improves on FS2004's ATC.Check it out here:http://www.jdtllc.com/

but i fly on VATSIM all the time, so that may not do, thanks anyways.

Flightdeck companion does part of what you want.Copilot can control things like altimeter, flaps, landing gear, as well as provide spoken checklists.

As someone who often enjoys 'looking out' during different phases of flight I know exactly what you mean :) - I don't think such a complete, comprehensive F/O exists though...yetregards,MarkXPHomeSP2/FS9.1/3.2HT/1GIG/X700pro256

Hello,Such an FO isn't technically possible (yet) I'm afraid. The FO in FS2Crew, for example, can perform a takeoff by himself (assuming you're in still air) and he can also perform a low visibility approach using monitored approach procedures and autoland by himself. But doing things like having the virtual FO taxi to the runway? Fantastic idea, but I looked into it and it's just not possible in FS2004. How can the FO "see" the taxiways? Maybe FS2006 will make available the variables required to do that job. I hope so, because I'll be the first to implement it!Cheers,Bryan

hmm, would be possible the same way AI aircraft do it I guess. Not sure how it would be implemented though, or if FSUIPC has the capabilities to read the information from FS somehow.

I had the same thought, but FSUIPC doesn't provide that capability. The necessary info just isn't available to be able to get the FO to taxi to the runway by himself (assuming of course he's even got a steering tiller on his side of the flight deck!).Let's hope it's available in FS2006.Cheers,Bryan

There is an easy answer Clayton, if you can get a buddy to do the 'boring' bits.Get FSNet http://www.gates.to/It allows up to 5 people to fly in the same aircraft, one PF, one PNF, one FE, two PAX.However your request begs two questions, especially as you fly on VATSIM presumably because it is 'more real'.If you like it 'as real as it gets' why do you want to off-load the boring taxi phase? If taxing is boring what do you do in the cruise?:-)

>If taxing is boring what do you do in the cruise?>:-)>Probably lie in a hammock in the cockpit, with a regular supply of Margheritas from the hostesses:-)

yes hi, well yes it can be boring but also the other problem is that when i fly in the states the airports there are huge and i dont have all airport charts so it would be awesome to just sit back and let the first officer taxi the plane to the active, even perhaps do the takeoff while i monitor the flight deck and enjoy the views outsidei think it is possible in Flight Unlimited 3?
