oh the freeware done by mike stone is so so crapy. When my eye sees dat #### model. It KILLING my eyes

Well can't blame Mike stone cus its freeware. The fly the tristar from Perfect flight is even worse than freeware and sells for 24 euro. I recommend holding on till the pilots tristar is released (in 2012 probably) see http://l1011.com/

IrfanFor your second post, it's none too pleasant! I should think twice about being quite so damning of freeware developers work if you want to continue to have such things to play with. Do you develop aircraft yourself? I think not. However .... how about this one?http://www.paxship.com/tristar5a.jpgMark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg

"oh the freeware done by mike stone is so so crapy. When my eye sees dat #### model. It KILLING my eyes"Personally I think no one should bother helping you out at this point. As a freeware author, if I saw you comment on my work in this way, your mailbox would be flooded with expletives which I think you, at your tender age, would fail to understand. We don't get paid to see your trash talk in public forums. I suspect you've been booted out of more than one.-John

Mark--which Tristar is this?-John

<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>No, this is not Erick's .... <<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>Mike Stone's. Sorry, I was just making a point to our expert friend. I don't need to remind you of his creative criticism, but will ....<<<<<>>>>>>>>Doesn't look too bad to me, Mr. Irfan. When you have a moment between expletives, do let us all know where Mike has got it wrong and how you know so much better. Have a go at the repaint too, why don't you .... it's mine.http://www.paxship.com/tristar10a.jpghttp://www.paxship.com/tristar7a.jpgMark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg

<<<<>>>>>The Tristar is my favourite jet, JP. And I've a soft spot for all things Cathay, as you'll know if you've visited my site, below. In recent years, I have indeed focused on the DC-3. I faced the usual dilemma of having 5,000 aircraft on my hard drive and never getting to fly any of them well; so decided, loving the plane as I do, to focus on one: the DC-3. I still fly other things once or twice a week, but most of my flying both singly and in multiplayer is in the DC-3 now. Learning one aircraft as well as its own real world pilots has been extremely rewarding and brought me many very interesting new friends through the Internet. I still fly other stuff occasionally, though; 2,000 aircraft remain in my active AIRCRAFT folder! Mostly small GA, though, given FS9's wonderful VFR improvements and the quality of what's available as add-ons; helicopters too, and my trusty Tristar. No FMC for me ... INS every time. Jeez, what a strange guy!

I don't believe English is his mother tongue so that accounts for some of the odd words, but not for his attitude and comments regarding freeware. There's freeware I don't like--heck even mine isn't for everyone's liking. I don't think people have to like freeware, but regardless of country and culture, they need to respect those that create it. I do have to say that U.S. media overseas comes across very strong. The language used even in a PG-13 movie isn't something our country should be proud of when it's exported overseas--and that's often how our "conversational" use of English is perceived. Sometimes the younger crowd just apes that language, which is what I think happened here. -John

OH YEAH!now there's language i understand->INS.i use it in the DC8...i know,it's not a DC3,but,well,i always collected pencils, and the stretch 8's look just like that.the 63 even carries four little pencils...so sweet :)and HJG just makes a terrific combo,panel/plane,with more liveries i can ever fly.i have almost no aircraft in my folder, couple of 8's,DC9's,a few DC3's,a couple of 727's,and three tristars, with that great freeware panel...i don't remember his name :-? it was pulled just after i downloaded it,that i do remember.as for choppers,i fly the jayhawk.but most of my simtime,be it online or offline, goes to the DC8(complete with functional tcas, mandatory online :) ).guess i have with the -8 what you have with the DC3.cheersJP.

Mark, just wanted to drop in here and let you know that it's a great Cathay repaint :) Mikes model and your paint is a nice combination and looks excellent taxiing around Kai Tak!!Cheers :)

Wow, sad to say I've read quite a bit of criticism over Mike Stone's aircraft. I find they are more than adequate to suit my own needs in FS. He is modelling some things that are next to impossible to find, and I have MOST definately seen worse out there than Mike's. I try not to respond in threads like this, ANYWHERE, simple because it's so easy to get the wrong impression, or understand implied emotion online, but I must agree with Mr. Beaumont on this one. I've tried modelling aircraft, and it's a mother. I think if I dedicate some real time trying that I may well be able to do it, but that is NOT the same as doing it. Mike makes what he wants to fly, spending God knows how much time on it, then shares it with us. God bless the designers out there, payware AND freeware, who make these add-ons for us. And if you have an opinion, state it in friendlier terms, lest ye ire some o' us in dis 'ere forum, an' be chaffed for it. It's also, IMO, biting the hand that feeds ya'.My two Lincolns-JeremyThe Ozark DogfighterHappy Flying!
