December 22, 201411 yr Hi, I have noticed few points on which I would like to have some clarification please: _ When selecting terrain and/or weather as concerns in the departure brief, the FO set up correctly their MFD but not for the arrival as per selection in the approach brief. Let's say weather radar is selected at departure for weather concerns, it remains selected until the end of the flight even if I set terrain concerns in the approach brief. Is it intented? _ If I select myself the terrain display on FO's MFD, they don't deselect it during the after landing flow while they correctly swith off the radar. Is there a way to force the FO to switch terrain off? _ The flight controls page remains displayed in the lower EICAS after takeoff. Is it not supposed to be blanked at some time? I need to get on my computer to remember at what moment the FO displays it on the lower EICAS but it is after engine starts and before after takeoff checklist for sure. _ I have noticed that the FO doesn't switch on/off the wing lights. I don't know what is the common practice regarding the use of these lights by night time during takeoff and landing, but could we have an option to have the FO switching them on/off with the landing lights at night time? (if it is realistic) Thanks for your answers. Romain Roux Avec l'avion, nous avons inventé la ligne droite. St Exupéry, Terre des hommes.
January 20, 201511 yr Author Hi, Is there anyone to read that post and give some answers, please? Thanks. Romain Roux Avec l'avion, nous avons inventé la ligne droite. St Exupéry, Terre des hommes.
January 21, 201511 yr Commercial Member Hi Roman, Sorry for missing this thread. If I ever miss a thread, just bump it or send me a support ticket. 1. Controlling the terrain switch is problematic because we can't read its position. So if you manually select it on, FS2Crew can't turn it off because the SDK doesn't allow us to read if it's even on. 2. Flight Controls page should be blanked at the end of the Before Taxi checklist, assuming you ran it and you're following the tutorial. Like with the terrain button, we can't 'read' what is actually being displayed on some of the screens. So if you're manually setting screens, the screens will be out of the sequence FS2Crew expects. 3. As far as I know, it's not Boeing SOP to use Wing Lights for takeoff and landing. B. Hi Bryan, Thanks for your answers. Regarding the point quoted above, I think there might be a small bug here. After the before taxi checklist, I have the following situation: Nav on the captain's MFD (set back as normal) and engine page on the lower EICAS. But when I speak "Clear left", the FO sets the lights as expected but instead of blanking the lower EICAS, they display the flight controls page. The FO may be using the FCTL command instead of the ENG. It doest that for any flight and no matter what if I do the preflight or start directly at the before start procedure... That was a legitimate bug that only happened if you were using the "Paper Checklists" option instead of the ECL option. I just fixed it for V1.2. Cheers, B. January 22, 201511 yr Author No problem! I love the Fs2crew products and it's my pleasure to help to find the rare issues to improve them even more. They definitely are a must have! Romain Roux Avec l'avion, nous avons inventé la ligne droite. St Exupéry, Terre des hommes.
December 22, 201510 yr Hi, can I ask a few more different questions...? 1) in VOICE version...when I ask FO "Are you ready for the departure/approach brief?", then there is nothing happen... Should I manually press PLAY BRIEF? 2) in HARD MUTE mode, I very often see that system recognizes my voice as "visual" word. Is it normal? 3) What should I say when BEFORE START CHECKLIST in TRIM point? Example, I have set trim 3.25...what is proper verbal confirmation? Lucas Lukasz Trzaskowski
December 22, 201510 yr Commercial Member 1. Do you see the phrase in the green bar? 2. Yes. The speech system still "hears" words, BUT the FO does not act on what is heard. 3. It's right in the manual: http://www.support.fs2crew.com/help/manuals/#pageid=tutorial_flight__voice_control_ You'd say something like: "3 Point 4 units zero and zero". Do not include the 2nd place (the "5" in your 3.25 example.) You're looking at the trim handle. Only say things like: 4 point 4 units zero and zero.... 5 point 0 units zero and zero. B. December 22, 201510 yr Ad 1. Hm, don't remember...I'll check it next time. Ad 2. Understand that, but why it recognizes almost every time as "visual"? Ad 3. Still don't understand.... you wrote: "3 Point 4 units zero and zero". Why "4" if trim is 3.25 in my example? Lukasz Trzaskowski
December 22, 201510 yr Author Ad 3. Still don't understand.... you wrote: Why "4" if trim is 3.25 in my example? Hi, In your case it would "3 point 2 units, zero and zero" or "3 point 3 units, zero and zero". The trim figure must be rounded to the first decimal digit. December 23, 201510 yr 1. Do you see the phrase in the green bar? Yes, I see green bar with proper recognized text. Then I hear FO saying: "Go ahead" ..and then silence. ------------------- One more thing... many times (if HM is not engaged) I hear FO saying "checked" - is it normal? Lucas Lukasz Trzaskowski
December 24, 201510 yr Commercial Member 1. That's the correct procedure. Everything is working. You'd then make up your own voice brief if desired. Ensure Hard Mute is on while you're doing it so the system doesn't start detecting commands you didn't intend to make. Close the brief by turning off hard mute and speaking: "Any Questions?" If you don't want to do any of that, just just the Brief Panel. Either way works. 2. "Checked". If you cough or something, the speech system could possible interpret that as a command or announcement. In your case, it's probably an FMA announcement that's being detected. The shorter the word, the easier for it to somehow be detected. In your case, I might keep your mic further away from your speakers or mouth. And leave Hard Mute if you don't need to say anything for long periods of time. Best, B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
February 2, 201610 yr Hi Bryan, I don’t know what happened, but since a few flights, after BEFORE TAXI PROCEDURES there is INITIAL CLIMB on main window (BEFORE TAXI and TAKEOFF CHECKLIST, RUNWAY ENTRY PROC are missed). How can I resolve it? Lucas Lukasz Trzaskowski
