January 20, 201610 yr Hi Roland, I went into the size parameters already and tried to adjust them, but then the image becomes too big and messed up on the passenger version. In answer to your second question, yes, it works great in the Co-pilot's display just like it is shown in your instructions - no flickering that I have noticed. The freighter version is the only problem. Noob question - to post an image I need an account with someone like Drop Box or PhotoBucket, correct ? (I don't have either).
January 20, 201610 yr Author Try to send the picture to hostingpics.net/ . Once the upload is done, copy/paste directly the link it gives you. No need for an account. You are lucky with the NO flickering behaviour! But now with Dash-8 Pro version we don't need it anymore... January 25, 201610 yr well after getting set up on Shutterfly, I thought I could post the images of the Q400's cargo display showing its small size. It looked like it would work until I tried to post it. that produces the error message "you are not allowed to use that image extension on this community". I have never had so much trouble with a BB.. All I know to try now is the URL directly pasted in as below. thanks for the patience These links show the effect I was talking about. the one with the full display is the Q400 passenger model, the other is a switch to the cargo model and no other changes. the small diaplay cannot be enlarged by any of the radar controls. If I enlarge it with the parameters in the cfg file, it ruins it for the passenger version. any thoughts ? ...maybe I'm the only one who uses tha cargo Q400 ?? Also, you mentioned the new pro version of the plane doesn't have a problem. did you mean it doesn't flicker ? Cheers Jeff https://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a6df05b3127cceeb659715753000000030O00AYtXLlk2bNGQPbz4Y/cC/f%3D0/ls%3D00204662995120160124171803443.JPG/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D550/ry%3D400/ https://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a6df05b3127cceeb649d9a55f600000030O00AYtXLlk2bNGQPbz4Y/cC/f%3D0/ls%3D00204662995120160124171753021.JPG/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D550/ry%3D400/
January 25, 201610 yr Author Jeff, The Q400 Pro version is delivered with a native Majestic weather radar wich is linked to ASN engine (but to be honest I prefer mine, more eye candy ) . So you don't need my gauge anymore. The difference I see is only a range settings. Bit it looks like you miss some part of native Q400 display. - Does both versions handle correctly the Q400 knobs for radar settings? - Can you post here the gauge declaration from you panel.cfg? I thought the Cargo version would come with its own panel.cfg, I understand it is shared by both versions. January 26, 201610 yr The Freighter and passenger share the same panel.cfg file. The only thing different is that when you select a freighter model the aircraft.cfg file points to a different mdl folder to get the other exterior model. both versions call the same interior model and there is only one panel.cfg file. the small radar return image you see above in the freighter model is actually as large as I could get it playing with the radar controls - gain max (200%), range min to max - tilt all values. No combination will get it larger, although the radar controls do work. Below is the section of panel.cfg where the gauge is declared. Again, works perfectly for the passenger version - including the radar controls in the VC for both versions. Cheers, and thanks for the help Jeff gauge00=mjc84_main!STBYPOPUP_gauge, 5,5,200,196//--------------------------------------------------------[Vcockpit00]Background_color=0,0,0//file=$vc1q400.bmpsize_mm=1024,1024visible=1pixel_size=1024,1024texture=$vc1q400gauge00=mjc84_main!MainGauge, 0,0,2,2, VCgauge01=mjc84_main!VC_sheet1_gauges, 0,0,1024,1024gauge99=RolasnRadar!ConeRadGauge,440,509,296,216, sweep|ghost//--------------------------------------------------------[Vcockpit01]//file=$vc2q400.bmpBackground_color=0,0,0

January 26, 201610 yr Commercial Member Roland I had to reinstall all my addons and forgot how to set up the gauge in P3D with the extra GTN in the Duke. I have tried but failed - here is the code I am using so maybe you can see something wrong. I have downloaded and installed the windows files you said were needed. gauge19=F1GTN!GTN750VC, 2,563,390,460,UNIT1//gauge20=F1GTN!GTN750VC, 398,563,390,460,UNIT2gauge20=RolasnRadar!ORadGauge, 398,563,390,460,UNIT2, sweep|beam|icing|starton Paul Grubich 2017 - Professional texture artist painting virtual aircraft I love. January 27, 201610 yr Author Paul, UNIT2 is not a valid option for my gauge, therefore it's useless. However it's not the cause of failure. I don't use the Turbine Duke but you can find the correct declaration in this thread. Did you put the DLL in <P3Droot>/gauge folder? January 27, 201610 yr Roland, I discovered you are right about the range setting. I hadn't played with this before. Even on the passenger version, if I set the range above 80 nm, the display becomes very small and looks just like the picture I posted for the cargo version. If I switch the range back to anything less than 80 nm, the display returns to a full size image and fills the pie section of the gauge, as I show in the other image I posted. This is all on the passenger version. On the cargo version, the small display is what I get regardless of the range setting (or any other settings, although the gain and tilt do change it, it remains small). Almost like the range setting in the cargo version is stuck at something above 80 nm, although the range knob moves visually when I change it.
January 27, 201610 yr Author Hum, It looks like the Cargo version do not use the same LVars, therefore the range knob is not working. If I remember well, the default range is 40NM, so it's strange that in Cargo it starts at 80NM...Maybe a bug in the Cargo version. (There is no good reason to go above 80NM as there is no depiction beyond) Roland MSFS my local airport release: LFOR Chartres-Metropole MSFS Plugins RAAS (registered FSUIPC7 required) MSFS FX for Objects & Landmark in France (Steam and smoke) and Aerial coverage for French nuclear sites

January 28, 201610 yr Author Paul, Thanks for sharing screenshots and settings. I love these old fashion shells  Are you able to adjust radar settings with the mouse wheel? Or you can't and for that reason you always add "starton" option? EDIT : forgot to mention for P3D users: you will have a real benefit on the radar display if you activate "mipmap panel" option. Try it.
