Thanks a lot Sir! hope the Beta testers don't detect problems ! *touchwood*

I bought the 737 NGX package and didn't realize that there was a problem with FSX:SE, I just can't wait till I can use PMDG

It has been the practice for a long time to kick Microsoft around for their complacency, and lack of "give a dang", if you will. I do almost encourage such criticism of the "out of touch" big guy.

There is a new developer updating, modifying for better performance, and in general, showing a sense of urgency and, dare I say, excitement about owning the license to a very old platform.

With all due respect, to admins and moderators alike, it doesn't sound very professional to be snide about Dovetail's lack of informing PMDG about every change they make. It would help, sure. After all, we all want OUR products to work with THEIRS.

I would like to think that I'm buying from a company that makes professional products, with a corresponding demeanor.

No offense intended, but it's a new day for our hobby, we should be excited! Difficulties happen, and you'll figure it out. You always have, and we're all waiting patiently. Do that voodoo that you do so well...

Mike-

I have been very intimately involved in the future of our hobby for a number of years- and I was directly involved in the business process that eventually wound up seeing FSX and FLIGHT wind up in the hands of DTG.

I think you might want to spend a bit more time researching what DTG has **actually** said about their plans for FSX.  There has been a breath of enthusiasm for DTG's effort to push FSX out via steam, but they have not committed to making major changes to the platform beyond a few tweaks.  (I know this from direct involvement... this isn't just a guess....)  I am very happy they have decided to make these tweaks- but that doesn't mean we should not point out truthfully where their implementation decisions have created significant product compatibility problems that weren't necessary.

DTG has a long term plan to build a new platform- which I think is worthy of enthusiasm to the extent that their business plan does not follow Microsoft's abortive effort to squander the secondary market for addons by requiring all developers to sell only through their chosen distribution network.  I have pressed DTG on this topic directly, just as I did when Microsoft brought us into the development of FLIGHT back in 2009...

I know a significant amount about how this business works, and what keeps our marketplace healthy- and I will go to great lengths to promote the health of the marketplace, to include PMDG's competitors and friends.

So while it might seem to you that I am poking fun at someone many are trying to paint as a savior of our marketplace- I think it is important to be honest with all of you as to what I know to be happening.

After nearly 20 years in this community- I think it is the least I can do.
