January 17, 201511 yr Hi all, I am new to PMDG NGX. I notice that on the default PMDG NGX 737-800 NGX aircraft there is a HGS combiner facility, which is not present on the re paint down loads (Ryanair and KLM) Why is this? And is it possible to insert that facility into re-paints? I had a quick look at the various aircraft Cfg.s, but don't want to do anything until some advice is forthcoming. Thanks in advance, Jaap. With regards, Jaap Moot
January 17, 201511 yr You can select the HGS option in the aircraft equipment options menu selectable from the FMC CDU. No need to edit anything. You can customise all kinds of equipment options in that way.
January 17, 201511 yr Author Thanks for that Kevin, I shall give it a try. Regards, Jaap. With regards, Jaap Moot
January 17, 201511 yr And that information is in the Introduction manual which you should really, really read. Otherwise you are missing out on very valuable information about this fantastic simulation you've purchased. Dave Dave Paige
January 18, 201511 yr In general, if a PMDG livery doesn't have certain equipment in it's cfg, such as the HGS, that usually means the airline doesn't use it in the real world. Of course, things like that can change at the particular airline after the paint was done. And there is nothing to stop one from adding it for their own sim use. Mark Keith
January 18, 201511 yr Author Kevin, I looked your suggestion up and found it, done it, thanks again. Dave, I'm still going through the manuals, I count eight of them. I do read the manuals as a rule. But thanks for your response. Mark, I was not aware that some airlines use them and others don't. However, I now have the choice. With regards, Jaap Moot
January 18, 201511 yr Dave, I'm still going through the manuals, I count eight of them.I do read the manuals as a rule. Yeah, lots of info... but, focus on the Intro and Tutorials. I use the boring space between TOC and TOD to lookup stuff in the FCOMs and FCTM and extensive use of Adobe Search feature when ever I have a question. Dan Downs KCRP
January 18, 201511 yr Author Will do Dan. Those are the ones I have started with. With regards, Jaap Moot
January 19, 201511 yr Yes I'm only referring to the Introduction and the two tutorials when I say you should read/do them. The rest should be considered more for reference, to be used when needed. Dave Dave Paige
