January 27, 201511 yr I have the key F1 programed for . cut thrust . The key R programed for Thrust ( reduce quickly ). This has worked successfully on the PMDG 737 and the Carenado King Air and Pilantis 12. It's not working on the Eaglesoft Citation X for some reason. Does anyone have an idea what the problem can be ?
January 27, 201511 yr As we posted to you in our forums. Why not use the keys already assigned?F1 = cut throttle(s)F2 = reduce throttle(s) quickly Set F2 for repeat. B) Beginning to question why we answer, then find you here re asking??
January 27, 201511 yr Author When I first started simming I deleted all of the FSX default keys and then customized them to my liking. I even used the F1 and F 2 keys, but that didn't work. I enjoy your forum and find it very useful, but I have always been a person who will ask questions and I also find this forum very informative as well. I know they aren't experts like you, but I value their input just the same.
January 27, 201511 yr In the future it would be best if you told us what you have done so far to correct your problem. I always hate responding to someone's issues and they come back and say "I already tried that". Even the information provided by the developer to help you resolve the issue would have been valuable as I'm sure others would hate responding to your topic with "have your tried tried the F1 and F2 keys?". I still use the default keyboard and throttle assignments in FSX but have added some where I can change views with my throttle buttons. They really work well and I think deleting and setting up your own key functions is just asking for trouble. In any case, glad you got your problem fixed by the developer. It will be interesting to see if any of our members have additional suggestions that work even better than the F1 and F2 keys. I know you can also assign these functions to your controller buttons too and that makes it pretty neat where you do not have to go fumbling for the key to hit on your keyboard. January 28, 201511 yr Author Well I haven't been able to fix the problem through the developer, that's why I'm here. I've tried the F1 and F2 keys and even other keys. They all work perfectly fine on My payware as mentioned above, even the default Lear. For some reason it's not working on the Eaglesoft Citation X. Everything else is fine on that plane. It's really a great plane, but just can't get the reverse thrusters to work. Could it be something in the files ?Either way , I'm going to work on this until I drop.lol
January 28, 201511 yr Does it have reverse thrust? The Phenom for example does not. Follow me on : Instagram See my Trailer: A Year Of Flight
January 28, 201511 yr Author Yes it does have Thrust Reversers. The engine cowling doesn't open up like a 737. The best way I can describe it is that two panels on each engine are on a hinge that open up at the rear of the nozzle.
January 28, 201511 yr Of course it's present. It's design is as posted up thread. Basis is default F1 and F2 as noted. Difficulty here appears to be deleting of default key mapping by user. FSUIPC is being used but we don't do custom key mapping to suit on local machines. Not something we are spending any more time on...
January 28, 201511 yr Author I tested the F1 and F2 keys and they don't work on planes that I tested as noted above in my first post. I'm starting to think that the problem is with my keyboard. It's a Logitech G510 Gaming Keyboard. Right now my setup is ; cut thrust > " T " . reduce throttle quickly > " R " with the box checked to repeat. I'm going to keep it that way for now since that setup works on all my planes except the Eaglesoft Citation X. I'll take this problem to the Logitech Forum where maybe someone there can solve this issue.
January 29, 201511 yr Author It looks like I fixed the problem . I went into the FUISPC 4 and assigned a button on my throttle . It not only works on the Citation X , but also the PMDG 737 and will assume it will work on all the other planes in my hanger. This will be easier since I won't have to work a key on my keyboard. This is a solution that the developers at Eaglesoft can now use for problems that might arise in the future.
January 30, 201511 yr This is a solution that the developers at Eaglesoft can now use for problems that might arise in the future. LOL, the solution was given in post #2.
January 30, 201511 yr Right on! F1 sets the thrust to Idle and F2 initiates Reverse Thrust in every compatible plane, going back I don't know how many FS versions now. I'll venture a guess and say FS 98.
