February 3, 201511 yr Hey guys, I'm going to be ordering a new PC this week. I had to sell my last sim rig about 2 years ago and for the last 6 months I've been running FSX on my i5 ASUS laptop. While it's certainly usable, not ideal by any stretch. This is the system that I'm looking at putting together. I'm unfortunately extremely limited on budget, so I'm trying to do the best I can. i5 4690k Devils Canyon (3.5 stock, I'd like to get to 4.5 - 4.6) Corsair H100i 240mm cooler MSI Z97S mobo MSI GTX 960 HyperFx 1600 DDR3 8GB 60GB SSD for FSX (I'll upgrade capacity as soon as budget allows) I'm looking to get a smooth 30fps in most situations. I fly mostly general aviation aircraft in the US. Full ORBX / FTX and UTX. I'd like to use REX4 and Soft Clouds. I'm not looking to max every slider, as I don't believe there is much benefit. I actually like the way my sim looks now on the laptop for the most part. The main areas that I want to improve are the micro stutters, increasing weather, and sharper textures. I would also like to try P3D V2.4. Any opinions? My budget is $1000 USD. Is there any area that I could do better? Thanks guys! February 3, 201511 yr Looks good to me, although if you can stretch to it I would recommend the GTX 970 over the 960 for the extra £50 or so P3D v4.5 MSFS2020 Hisense 50" 4K TV Ryzen 9600x 64gb DDR5 6000mhz, Asrock B650m HDV/M.2 Gigabyte 16gb 9070XT, Thermalright Aqua Elite 240mm 2TB NVMe Boot/FS2020 Drive, 2TB NVMe P3D Drive. February 4, 201511 yr As you intend to overclock your cpu I'm not sure whether 1600 Ram is a good idea.
