February 6, 201511 yr Hi, Its very difficult for me to do nice landings in FSX because anywhere from 100 ft to touch down I get these stutters which makes me over compensate on the controls which lead to lousy landings. I dont get stutters usually anywhere else and definitely not as bad as when landing. It happens on every landing I use PMDG 77W Active Sky Next No AI Traffic Mostly Add-on Scenery (FSDT, Flightbeam, Flytampa) My Sliders are on the lower end ExternalFrame limiter (cant think of the name of it now) I7 860 GTX 750 Win 7 Saitek pedals, yoke and throttles Dont use any other external programs to enhance visuals Any advice would be great William Coade
February 6, 201511 yr ASN impacts FPS especially if you're landing at any of those payware airports and there is any kind of bad weather around or lots of clouds. So many times recently I have been landing at those airports and my FPS has just gone into the tank. So much so I am wondering if perhaps I have something not setup correctly in my system. I use UT2 for traffic but I have it set to get 30 FPS in the program but I don't think that feature really works because I never EVER get a consistent 30 FPS when landing at those airports with any payware planes. The PMDG planes are VERY VERY hard on FPS so there is going to be a major drop in FPS anyway and when you add ASN, and payware airports it's gonna suffer even more. I also get the stuttering even when taxiing around the payware airports I just assume that's how the sim is going to look and there is no amount of tweaks or anything I can do to fix that. If there is I would be more than happy to try them because I do get quite frustrated having the FPS go in the tank on approach to those airports.
February 7, 201511 yr The PMDG 777 loads the sounds for landing about at that point I believe. You could try to go into the CDU and in the option there is a setting to preload sounds when you load the plane and see if this helps on landing. The only downfall of that is uses up available memory and increases your chances for an oom in high scenery areas. Sean Green

February 7, 201511 yr Author Thanks everyone for the replys. Looks like I know where the stutters are coming from. If I hit Q (sound off) 1100-1200 AGL I have no stutters. I am now going to try and pre load all sounds in the PMDG CDU and see how this turns out. Only thing now is it can be Selective or All. Anyone know which one i should select? William Coade

Just try "All" first and if you experience more OOM errors then try "Selective."
February 10, 201511 yr Author Looks like pre-loading the sound makes all the difference. Thanks all who helped! William Coade
