DX10 Fixer Papi lights

Featured Replies

Hello,

I noticed that I have no PAPI lights during approach. They only sometimes appear when I am on final approach. Is this a known issue or a problem caused by settings?

Thanks!

Regards

Tried implementing the 'Legacy Airport Lights' instruction as noted on page 48 of the manual?

Ok I noticed taxiway and runaylights are also not visible!

I followed the manual and I can notice that the lights are now available by putting e.g. EDDS_LightField.bgl into the Scenery folder of the addon airport but there is a problem too:

The lights ( all lights ) appear for around 1 or 2 seconds BUT then they disappear for 1 or 2 seconds and then they appear again.....

Mhmmmm I dont know whats wrong....

I am afraid that drivers wont change anything. Its the effects system in the FSX core which is faulty.

In some circumstances the flashing property of a light can get "passed" on to the next light. Normally if the aircraft landing lights are on that is sufficient to prevent it. Try the default airbus and see if its the same.

Its all based on the order in which it sorts the lights, the number of texture changes, and whether lights are classed as "visible" by the engine when sorting. If you switch to a spot view it will probably be fine for example.

As with PAJN at this airport there must be a flashing light somewhere at the airport that unfortunately gets sorted to be drawn first and is then triggering this.

They work with landing lights from the default A321 but this cant be the solution.

One thing us veteran FSX Pilots or Tweakers or both learn early on is that there are very few if any solutions, just work arounds.  :P
