No ... unless you have some very unusual ones.

Is the A318/319 from Aerosoft working with 2.5?

Yes, no issues.

What about addon aircraft (i.e.. A2A) and the Flight1 GTN & Opus?? Anyone have any time with these yet? Should these items be put on hold for new installers??

Do you need to uninstall then delete the P3D folder or should this be left intact?

A2A is fine. I also installed Aerosoft Airbus and PMDG 777 without doing anything special.

I don't know about the folder. I uninstalled my addons, then P3D. I ran a file search for leftover items using Everything freeware. Finally, I searched the registry for leftover items. After I got rid of everything I could find, I did the reinstall.

Once you've removed all traces of the program, I can't imagine a folder would matter. If you are concerned about that just delete all folders. Maybe someone could chime in on this. I think the main thing is to remove at least what LM and Rob have indicated. The more you get rid of, the less chance for issues.

That's my overly long answer to your short question.

Opus works fine. The F1 GTN will need an update. I don't own any A2A aircraft, so am not sure about those.

I have just rid my computer of every spec of 2.4.  Nearly finished downloading 2.5,  roll on the headaches for the weekend.

No issues with A2A aircraft for P3D.  F1 GTN needs an update and I heard that will happen pretty soon.  I haven't tested the latest Beta update of OpusFSI ... but earlier version worked but I did get a significant FPS hit ... maybe related to how clouds are done in v2.5 ... they're a little more demanding than in v2.4 but also look considerably better ... so there "might" need to be some adjustments to weather engines and how dense they emulate cloud layers and cloud type usage.

Going forward with P3D updates (post v2.5) it's my understanding there will be a patch process in future releases.  So v2.5 is a good place to start fresh.

Any chance you have to snap and share a few pictures of the new clouds would be immensely appreciated. Even with soft clouds and cfg tweaks, the P3D+REX clouds are significantly less attractive than FSX+REX. Honestly, it's my only lingering gripe with P3D as far as visuals are concerned. Everything else is lovely and I'm getting acceptable framerates.

Thanks Rob.

Installed latest opusfsi into 2.5 - works perfectly no tweaking - works right out of the box

I'll disagree with you there ... what .cfg tweaks for clouds (there are no tweaks in v2.5 to clouds)?  IMHO, FSX clouds have no volume, don't respond well to light changes, and have far too much "edge" as they sit in the FSX skyline looking more like 2D drawings than clouds.

First off, thanks very much for the 2.4 to 2.5 comparison.

Secondly, I was referring to the 2.4 cfg tweaks to "stretch" the cloud textures so they seemed larger, thus diminishing the "popcorn" effect. It helped but the changes were minimal in my opinion.

Now, I 100% agree with you that cloud rendering in P3d is far superior to FSX, especially when considering volume and light effects. The problem I have is that clouds just seem so very small - like 1/4 size of those rendered in FSX. Furthermore, P3D doesn't seem to randomize the textures enough, creating an obvious tiled pattern, depending on your perspective.

REX clouds in P3D no longer feel spectacular, grand, and epic - as they did in FSX.

No matter the weather scenario, I have never seen clouds in P3D v2.4 look this full as this (REX FSX product shots):

Maybe I just have to live with the fact that the improved P3D clouds come with a few side effects that don't suit my taste. I can certainly live with that. But I do hope that there are some improvements in the future. Maybe REX or ASN can answer the call.

Thanks Rob.
