Nvidia Drivers

Featured Replies

FSX runs great on my system the way it is currently set up, but I haven't updated my Nvidia video card drivers in 2 years.  If I update the drivers will I notice any improvement in FPS, or video quality.  Is the update really worth risking a perfectly good setup?  I'm concerned that I will run into problems after the update.  Does anyone have any comments regarding this?  Should I do it, or just leave it alone?  Is it worth it?

Thanks,

John

if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I don't think you'll see any performance improvement. The updates are beneficial to those that install new addons or other software that may tap into some graphics functionality that you haven't used. The updates to the drivers have bug fixes and improvements that may not affect your current setup and that will be fine as long as nothing changes. I generally try to stay up to date, but mostly because I run 3 sims and will install addons on a fairly regular basis.

You probably will not see an improvement in performance with just a video card driver update unless you are currently experiencing video problems.
