June 12, 200520 yr I have installed Ultimate Traffic a while back, but the default paints always look terrible on my PC and I have not been able to fix it. I have a Pentium 3.4Ghz and X800XT video card and the graphics settings are on high (4x AA, 8x AF, Global Max texture size massive etc). I never see any problem with the scenery or the plane I am flying. The picture shows what I am talking about...Should the default paints appear this way? Thanks.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/119340.jpg

June 12, 200520 yr You won't get them looking much better than that I'm afraid. They are bad quality models IMO.A lot of people swap them for AI Aardvark and FSP models using the "aircraft assignment" tool. It takes a long time but visually makes a huge difference. June 12, 200520 yr My default UT traffic looks MUCH better than the picture attached above. June 12, 200520 yr Thats what I thought, it should look much better. I don't see other screenshots with traffic like this. The graphics settings are all (including mip maps and global max texture size) maxed out.
June 12, 200520 yr I don't know why your ai aircraft look so bad with your system. Mine is a lesser system but the UT aircraft look pretty good compared to your screen shot. I would say they look almost as good as my LDS or PMDG aircraft. Maybe not quite but not as bad as yours. You may want to delete the UT aircraft and reinstall.
June 12, 200520 yr I would say they look almost as good as my LDS or PMDG aircraft.:-lol:-lol:-lol:-lol Let me know which AI you're using, because my UT traffic looks like junk, as does everyone else's that hasn't swapped models for AIA stuff. I'm not enough of an AI ** to be bothered to reassign all my traffic.Daniel P.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpgMember of SJU Photography. June 12, 200520 yr This looks very much like a mip map problem. If it is the cure is to extract the mips from the textures using 'imagetool'. Nvidia cards are, I understand particularly prone to this. If you are not familiarn with textures mip maps run a search in the forums for plenty of advice on how to do carry out this procedure. Once done the textures will look razor sharp.
June 13, 200520 yr I agree. Use to use UT, but the models were horrible to say the least.Since then I am using ProjectAI and love it.
June 13, 200520 yr I agree with you all about the models AI Aardvark, FSp etc, but the poster's problem is with displaying of the textures....not the model. He needs help to get sharp textures. This blurring would happen on any model if the texture contains mips!!!!
June 15, 200520 yr >I agree. Use to use UT, but the models were horrible to say>the least.>Since then I am using ProjectAI and love it.>I don't think the ProjectAI models look much different. The problem with ProjectAI is that they don't have many of the smaller airlines outside of the USA so some airports in the UK that are dominated by one airline can look deserted.Iain
June 15, 200520 yr IainThat's not quite the whole story: PAI automatic installers may be limited to major airlines, but IMHO, their repaints section has the most comprehensive library of AI liveries you will find on any other site - probably including this one.The downsides are:1) you have to install the repaints manually2) you need to find separate flightplans from somewhere and marry them to the aircraft - of course PAI also have flightplans held separately from the installer packsTime consuming I know, what else were you going to do with your time, go flying or something?
