March 15, 201511 yr Hello- So out of the blue, my computer wont start if two sticks of RAM are plugged in. I have an Asus Z-97 Maximus VII Hero and 2x sticks of Corsair 8BG RAM for a total of 16GB's. But magically, if the two sticks are plugged in, the computer will light up for a few seconds, then shut off, then light up agai, and continue this cycle. If only 1 stick is installed, it starts up normally. What is going on? The motherboard and RAM are new and have worked with each other before, this is all new. Thanks.
March 16, 201511 yr Insufficient voltage to the RAM or maybe the second RAM slot has died? Maybe something has gone awry in the BIOS? My computer: ABS Gladiator Gaming PC featuring an Intel 10700F CPU, EVGA CLC-240 AIO cooler (dead fans replaced with Noctua fans), Asus Tuf Gaming B460M Plus motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 video card, dead EVGA 750 watt power supply replaced with Antec 900 watt PSU.
March 16, 201511 yr Download a program called memtest86. Then run it on each stick of ram on it's own, and in all slots. This will tell you if the Ram stick is bad, or if the motherboard slot is bad P3D v4.5 MSFS2020 Hisense 50" 4K TV Ryzen 9600x 64gb DDR5 6000mhz, Asrock B650m HDV/M.2 Gigabyte 16gb 9070XT, Thermalright Aqua Elite 240mm 2TB NVMe Boot/FS2020 Drive, 2TB NVMe P3D Drive. March 17, 201511 yr Maybe boot up with 1 stick, then try thay stick in another slot, then try the sequence with the other stick? That worked for me. Robin "Onward & Upward" ... To the Stars, & Beyond...
