Just out of curiosity, there is a little square symbol just over the red M for mute in the voice control main panel. I think sometimes it blinks or change its look.

No problems with it, just want to know :-) and have nothing found on recherches.

I think you mean the flashing * symbol.

 

It means FS2Crew is in Descent mode, which is a condition for descent and landing calls to be triggered.

I think he's referring to the soft mute option.

Soft mute is also the red M think? I asked about the symbol above the M... then it should be the descent mode!
