March 25, 201511 yr Just a quick question about the FMC in the 737 NGX- Does it require an Airac update? Or does everything come RTF? As Always, Chris
March 25, 201511 yr It has an outdated AIRAC cycle (I apologize, I don't know which one off hand), but is completely flyable. You can update it with NAVIGRAPH data if you choose, but is not needed to "just" enjoy the pleasure of flying this beauty!! Devin CYOW
March 25, 201511 yr Commercial Member Just a quick question about the FMC in the 737 NGX- Does it require an Airac update? Or does everything come RTF? It's not required, but if you want to use current routes, you'll need it. SimBrief allows you use older AIRACs to keep everything matched up. Kyle Rodgers
March 25, 201511 yr Author So the FMC will still gather navigation data, even without any further updates? As Always, Chris
March 25, 201511 yr Commercial Member So the FMC will still gather navigation data, even without any further updates? I'm not sure what you mean by "gather data," but it will always navigate using the existing data that's in there. Unless you were to delete it, it will remain in there available to the FMC. Think of it this way: You download a copy of a magazine. You can read that copy of the magazine for as long as you have that file. The articles will be old, but you can still read it. A newer version is available monthly, with new articles, but you'll have to pay for it. If you don't pay for a new one, you still have that old file to keep going back to. Same goes with you nav data. Until you pay to replace it, you can always continue to use the existing data that ships with your copy of the NGX. Also: I see you're new to the forums. Welcome. It's a forum rule here to include your first and last name in your posts. Please do so in the future. Thanks! Kyle Rodgers
March 25, 201511 yr Author Thanks for the help. Sorry if my question was not clear. What I meant was that I was concerned that the FMC would not recognize the standard FSX navigation data,so I have to get an Airac update. Similar to the problem with the Ifly 747 FMC. As Always, Chris
March 25, 201511 yr Commercial Member Thanks for the help. Sorry if my question was not clear. What I meant was that I was concerned that the FMC would not recognize the standard FSX navigation data,so I have to get an Airac update. Similar to the problem with the Ifly 747 FMC. Our FMC doesn't read the FSX data (with rare exceptions). It comes with a Navigraph data cycle installed by default (whichever one was current when it was released). You need not purchase a single thing unless you actually want to. Kyle Rodgers
March 25, 201511 yr Author Ah,thanks for clearing up my confusion. I was planning on purchasing the NGX today, but I was concerned with the functionality of the FMC. I am very grateful for your help, I was shocked on the idea of not getting this beautiful bird. Many Thanks Chris Fernandez (Did I do that right?) As Always, Chris

March 25, 201511 yr Hello, just to add to what has been stated, if you let the current Airac expire the FMC will display a message on the scratchpad "NavData out of date". Richard Welsh
March 26, 201511 yr Author Sorry to bother, but I have a serious issue right now. I am not able to purchase the NGX! I have entered all of the billing info correctly, but when I click place order, nothing happens. Their is no message, it seems like nothing happens. I've done this multiple times, all with the same result. The credit card info is fine, but I don't know why is this happening. It might be a server issue, as I can't even contact the support Forum. I have no clue what is happening. I have entered every single thing correctly. -Chris Fernandez As Always, Chris

Also, you can contact PMDG directly by following the link to PMDG Product Support. You have to create a new account there because support accounts are separate from eCommerce accounts. Once you have a support account you can open a trouble ticket. They will help you out. Dan Downs KCRP
