It will work in game.

 

The only problem is that if you have a "Side by Side" install of Microsoft FSX and Steam FSX, the FS2Crew installer will not be able to detect the location of Steam of FSX, and the Config Manager won't be able to add the FS2Crew entries to the Dash 8's panel.cfg file.

 

However, if you "only" have Steam FSX installed, then there's no problem because Steam FSX (stand-alone) shares the same registry info as Microsoft FSX.  They're essentially identical.

I have both installed, so that is the problem.

Hmmm..I'll just copy the panel.cfg from fsx to fsx:se...that should work
