April 17, 201511 yr Commercial Member I've been really short of time recently but I will get round to playing with that more. I guess I was too fearful of going to 4x4 without ever actually trying it. i5-650 dual core @ 3.2GHz. Don't have the spare money to build a new system right now, as much as I want to. If you have HT enabled on your dual core, try using an Affinity Mask = 14. Thank you Mr Helpy Helperton He's from Helpford. Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com

Only ever been to London, bit like Dublin i suppose with black taxis. Moving swiftly on from the empty madness of my head. Back on track now, Anti-Aliasing in VC.................
April 18, 201511 yr Author If you have HT enabled on your dual core, try using an Affinity Mask = 14. It's an ACER system so can't switch it off. I use Affinity Mask = 4 because I thought that was for dual core with HT on? Can give it a try. Cheers, Chris Brand

An AM=4 enables only one of your logical processors which is really bad news, use 14 on a dual core with HT enabled! Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com

April 19, 201511 yr Commercial Member If you are running FSX-SE latest build, then that takes care of the JOBSHEDULER section automatically for you, and works well. Otherwise with FSX and P3D your AM=4=(01,00) in binary, shows LPs 3,2, and 1, 0. That shows you have one logical processor enabled. An AM=14=(11,10) which allows three logical processors enabled (LPs 1,2 and 3), and gives only one (LP 1) on the first core, this keeps the main thread on a core to itself, by masking LP 0. But your AM=4 forces the entire sim onto LP 2 - not good. Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com

Not running SE just standard did version. Still haven't had time to try out these new tweaks but that makes sense to me so should hopefully see some improvements! Thanks for the help. May 3, 201511 yr Author Just a quick update. I think my monitor is the cause of a lot of my issues. It's only 1360x768 so nothing super. However, I will be getting a 27" iMac next week with a 3.4GHz i5-4670, 8GB 1600MHz DDR3 ram, 2GB GTX775M, 1TB 7200RPM HDD. I know it's nothing super but it will be a massive improvement over what I have currently. (It has to be a Mac for what it's primary use will be: work). Cheers, Chris Brand
August 23, 20169 yr I set AA within FSX to "anisotropic" In the Nvidia control panel I use the following. Anisotropic filtering = application controlled Antialiasing gamma correction = on Antialiasing mode = enhance the application setting Antialiasing setting = 4x Antialiasing transparency = off CUDA GPU's = All Extension limit = off Maximum pre-rendered frames = 3 Multi-display/mixed GPU acceleration = Single display performance mode Texture filtering Anisotropic sample optimization = off Texture filtering Negative LOD bias = Clamp Texture filtering quality = Quality Texture filtering Trilinear optimization = on Threaded optimization = off Triple buffering = on Vertical sync = force on I'm not going to say that these are optimum settings, but they seem to work well for my old computer. Hi all I came over this thread yesterday, and I also have struggled with jagged edges of the text in the displays of the 777. Thought I would try these settings, and it was a total transformation of both the displays and the aircraft itself! Finally!! So I just wanted to say a big thank you to both "stans" and "SteveW", your settings was the charm for me too! My specs, for the record: i5-4670K @ 3,40 GHz, GTX 760, 8,00 GB RAM Regards Ørjan Polman Regards Ørjan Polman Hardware: i5-4670K, 3,40 GHz, 8 GB RAM, GTX 760, 24' BENQ monitor 1920x1080 @ 60Hz
August 23, 20169 yr For the record, Poppet.......it's P3D, not PD3  Thank you Mr Helpy Helperton :) Awwww Chris so cute  Even back then you annoyed me
