April 17, 201511 yr Thanks, I will give it a try. My plan was not to install the PMDG777 and NGX into FSX-SE but to just reference the install in my FSX location. I will run the update because that will hopefully make it work with this reference setup. As for ASN, I may need to copy over the folder from my FSX install to FSX-SE. Hi, Mark, I wish you success with what you are trying to do -- I hope you succeed! Bear in mind that there are two modules in the FSX>PMDG>Modules folder that need to be referenced in the dll.xml file for the steam version. Possibly if you include the full paths for these two modules in the dll.xml for Steam, your single-install of the two PMDG aircraft will work. I have only succeeded in sharing (separate) AI aircraft folders between the two versions and for scenery, but I haven't tried referencing a single install in FSX from FSX:SE for a flyable aircraft. So, again, really interested to know how this works out in your setup. Regarding ASN, it seems to me you would be better off just letting ASN do the installation automatically. You should just have one ASN, but with a duplication of a folder in both FSX versions. My ASN is on a separate computer, and I did have to run ActiveSkyNext_FSX_Install.exe separately on my FSX computer for each FSX version, but maybe ASN's installer will automatically do so if it's on your FSX computer. Mike
April 17, 201511 yr Mike, Did you install Orbix and FTX global to FS:SE. I failed to install it. Ahmet Sanal "Time you enjoyed wasting, was not wasted"

Mike So far it has worked with Captain Sim planes & Majestic Q400. I think I will have to do the regular full install with PMDG and possibly Aerosoft. As for ASN, mine is also on a second computer so I guess I will have to run it again on my FSX-SE machine. Good news is the scenery works fine. Mike, Did you install Orbix and FTX global to FS:SE. I failed to install it. I just referenced mine in the scenery.cfg by including the full path. It works. Mark CYYZ
April 17, 201511 yr Mark, Can you give me step by step full path direction. I made a mess. :( Ahmet Sanal "Time you enjoyed wasting, was not wasted"

April 17, 201511 yr Author Mark, Can you give me step by step full path direction. I made a mess. :( Copy your scenery.cfg from FSX located in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\FSX Open in notebook. You will see something like [Area.003] Title=ORBX!VECTOR_AEC Layer=3 Active=TRUE Required=TRUE Local=ORBX\FTX_VECTOR\FTX_VECTOR_AEC change Local= so that the entry is now [Area.003] Title=ORBX!VECTOR_AEC Layer=3 Active=TRUE Required=TRUE Local=F:\FSX\ORBX\FTX_VECTOR\FTX_VECTOR_AEC do this for all the entries you have. Save and copy into C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\FSX-SE Mark CYYZ

Regarding ASN, please take a look at my post #10 in this thread, if you start getting "ambient weather" messages. Mike
April 17, 201511 yr Mark, thanks. Manual installation completed. Ahmet Sanal "Time you enjoyed wasting, was not wasted"

Mike Not yet with Level D. I am not too worried about this one because I hardly fly it anymore plus I never have issues with frames or OOM's when I do. Mark, thanks. Manual installation completed. Glad that worked out. Mark CYYZ
