Definitely good for the hobby.  Now lets just hope they learn how to fly before they connect to Vatsim at the runway threshold of a major airport.

I hope it becomes good news for developers too and they start marketing products as specifically FSX-SE and not just grouping them all under FSX. The consumer shouldn't have to search through the forum or read the fine print to know whether it's compatible. The retailers often don't seem to have a clue what works in SE and what doesn't.

 

It's odd to have credit card in hand searching for addons but hesitant to buy something that may or may not work....

Most freeware as well a payware will work in FSX:SE, provided it is the only version installed. The problems with payware mostly occur when it is installed side-by-side with the disk version of FSX, and the installer hasn't been updated to account for the different registry path.
