May 5, 201511 yr I just realized I think I have my Hawker 850 Flight Safety manuals somewhere in the attic ! woohoo Nothing like finding a treasure in the attic. Did you happen to get a pdf version along with the hard copy? woohoo! Regards, Ray When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .
May 5, 201511 yr Welcome back to the AVSIM forums, Peter. I remember you from your association with Looking Glass Studios and Flight Unlimited 3. That FU3 Beechjet was superb, and it was my aircraft of choice for many years before I finally decided to switch to FSX in 2008. May 5, 201511 yr Does the real Hawker 850 have Auto throttle? Some users seem to have an obsession with autothrottle, that I can only attribute to default aircraft's autopilot functionality (which is wrong, for the record). Autothrottle is generally only seen on big jets (737 size upwards), you hardly ever see it on regional jets, business jets or anything with propellers. IAS is typically adjusted by changes in pitch attitude whilst the throttle held in a fixed position (e.g. climb rating or idle), for both climb and descent. This is often known as FL CH (Flight level change) mode on auotpilots (it's OP CLB on Airbus and it's IAS on BAe) Throttle is only used to adjust speed during level flight and approach. Even in the cruise, typically you'd set cruise power and then leave the throttles alone. The exception to the above is fully managed VNAV, where a combination of both pitch and throttle is used (although the distinction between them is usually invisible to the pilot in VNAV mode). ckyliu, proud supporter of ViaIntercity.com. i5 12400F, 32GB, RTX4070, more in "About me" on my profile.
