Vincent,

It probably would have been best to start a new topic for this issue, but I'll take the opportunity to answer here. I also can't get it to work, even after the update to the VA Interface Lite to version 2.12.0. I opened a support ticket with Virtual Avionics and they asked me to send a log file. I did so yesterday and haven't heard back.

Jakob-

Excellent- you do a great job of setting up the easy pitch.  B) (baseball reference- sorry...)

"Why I answered you the way I did?"  Because, while, as you state in your reply above, Mathijs and Aerosoft are well recognized in the community and would have no reason to deceive you, you imply in your original post and then again in your followup post- that this must mean I am lying to you.

Had you spent a few moments considering the facts, you might have reached the conclusion that my warning to be prepared for a monday distribution probably came from an informed point of view...  On Thursday afternoon, when I informed you via this announcement that we had sent the files to Aerosoft- I obviously had reason to be concerned that we had not given them enough time to get their process set up and running before the weekend.  I stated that quite clearly because I am well informed on the topic.

After all, Aerosoft and PMDG are in nearly constant communication on many, many topics- we have been close partners for 15 years.

I thought my reply to you was pretty benign, given the circumstances- after all, I have taken some legendary abuse here in this forum for telling the truth when some folks really didn't want to hear it.  PMDG has a strong reputation for telling you the truth, and if you spend any time here you will see that I am unafraid of taking ownership of mistakes- especially if I am the one making them.  That is the only way to run business, in my opinion.

So- yes- I gave you some push-back.  I'm sorry if seemed I was picking on you- but you questioned my character in circumstances where you already had all of the available information.  I'm sorry if the tone of my reply wasn't friendly and chipper- but I'd bet the house that if you walked into our office and met me in the lobby, you would have asked politely for clarification- without the thinly veiled antagonism- and you would have gotten a nice polite answer and some pleasant conversation in reply.

(Unless I was on my way to a meeting...  I hate meetings...)

Robert,

In truth my initial comment was never meant in a sarcastic or indignifying manner, if you found it to be so, then I do apologise, it is nothing but the way we speak within my social circle. My follow-up comment was written, in my view, in a tone which matched the reply I had received.

Before I go on, let me mention that I am aware the update has now been released (downloaded it straight after.. runs very well within SE), and thus this conversation / discussion is somewhat irrelevant - therefore I shall do my best to round it off.

You are absolutely correct that I am not "informed" on the topic, but the only way to become informed is, in this regard, by asking questions. Which I did, and I stand by asking questions when something does not add up (which this, in all honesty, didn't).

So, in conclusion: Miscommunication. My question has been answered to a satisfiable degree, and I won't waste your time any longer. I do however hope that in the future, the producing and distributing partners would coordinate their public statements slightly better.

... And don't worry, everybody hates meetings  ^_^

Oliver,

Looks like Mathijs Kok's "office" had not been informed by "other Aerosoft offices" which had received the files already. Mathijs simply should have advised of that lapse in his own forum, after spreading incorrect information there, IMHO.

And just for the record, I got my T7 from the PMDG store!

I would go easy on Mathijs.  He has a much bigger support operation to run than we do- and this is just one very small detail that he has to manage during the course of the day.  All he knows when asked is, "the files aren't in his control."

Kylan,

Who is this 'emvaos' character? Looks like he needs a pay raise :)

Oh to the contrary.  At PMDG we view it from the standpoint that he shouldn't have made all of these mistakes in the first place!

Okay- so in summary:  I misunderstood your tone, you reacted to mine, we have both apologized to the other and there are no hard feelings, BUT...

We are both in agreement that it is entirely the fault of Mathijs.

Work for you?

Robert, will future updates be smaller in size? Will they not require us to re-download the entire product again?

Just updated.

Since the installer only offered Repair and Uninstall...but no update possibility I opted for a full uninstall followed by a reinstall of the PMDG772 base package.

I made a video of all my FMC settings before uninstall/reinstall but I am glad to report that al setting were retained :-)

Well done guys!

Even FSUIPC settings and OpusFSI camera views still work (they should...I know....but I still worried).

The only things I am not sure about now is whether or not I still have my Aerosoft nav database or that the updated 777 came with an (older) set of Navigraph data?

Well I will just rerun the Aerosoft updater to make sure I am current.

Excuse me! There seems to be an issue regarding the PMDG 777-300er. When i click the taxi-cam i don't see the gear or wings or Tires. Could you please help me out here. I'm using FSX SE.[MOD: Best to avoid personal contact details in a semi-public forum] Thanks!

It's considered poor form to dredge up old posts. While I have a feeling that you found this post through using the search function - which is commendable - it's best to either submit a ticket (there's a link in my signature), search for a thread where someone else sees the exact same issue, or post a new thread. In your case, it's likely better to go directly to support.

Dc-6 is about to go in to beta?

You mean extended BETA?

I m sure it has been in a beta version as I have seen videos that are titled DC-6 BETA .

Please clarify so I know if I need to have my head examined.

Thanks!

Peter

Sorry for the confusion Peter. This thread is over a year and a half old, and someone re-opened it to bring up an issue about the 777's GMCS. The DC-6 has been in beta for quite some time.
