July 6, 200520 yr The only "problem" I know of with v1.0 is the bug where the max flap extension speed for approach flaps is screwed up. You're supposed to be able to put them down safely under 200 KIAS; on v1.0, dropping them at anything over about 170ish will jam and disable them, and force you to land at approach flap, and repair them on the ground. That, and on my particular system, sometimes it'll CTD FS2004 on exiting a flight. Other than that, it's darn near perfect. Those shots of the new version with the full-analog panel look sweet.Lewis "Moose" GregoryRichmond, Virginia Lewis "Moose" Gregory Durham, North Carolina
July 7, 200520 yr You won't be at all disappointed with your purchase if you lean to the B200. I've flown it a couple hundred hours and absolutely love it!! Now, I'm flying around the virtual world with it!! Devin CYOW
July 7, 200520 yr hey netshadoe,I like your website and the way you followed the legs along with pics, Very nice and interresting. I have a question for you, Might be a dumb one but, How do you get your clouds to show overcast, Is it just a Activesky feature or can it happen with default MSFS weather or say FSMetar? Ive been trying to figure that out for a while(Probably very easy to figure out, hence dumb question LOL)Thanks in advance. July 7, 200520 yr Just thought I'd throw this in, but to tell you how good the maintenance module is...if you let the engines get a bit low on oil, the ITT goes up. I try to fly to where I keep the ITT under 740 degrees C, which is recommended by Aeroworx, and after a long flight, I didn't top off the oil before the next leg (with the maintenance set to "fast" so things wear out quicker). On the next leg, at FL270, I wasn't able to run as much throttle as on the first leg, because the ITT would go over 740 C. Now maybe it was atmospheric conditions, I don't know. But at least I think that letting those PT6As get a couple quarts low on oil could cause something like that to happen!Get this thing. Don't wait for v2.0, that's just the icing on the cake. Get it, study the manual, and you'll learn to love it. It flies great, and the sophisticated avionics are awesome. I retrofitted some RealityXP stuff into mine (GNS530, WX500, and the new Sandel SN3308 EHSI) and now it's *really* tricked-out! But you don't even need to do that, the stock autopilot and FS2004 GPS are plenty sophisticated, and I never really did learn all the tricks to it even in about 40 hours behind the controls.Lewis "Moose" GregoryRichmond, Virginia Lewis "Moose" Gregory Durham, North Carolina
July 7, 200520 yr I can only chime in with everyone else... The Aeroworx B200 is astounding.Moose,I asked you in another thread about your retrofits for using the RXP stuff. Do you have suggestions on how to do this with the Eaglesoft CII and the Aeroworx B200?Jeff,Richmond too Jeff Bea I am an avid globetrotter with my trusty Lufthansa B777F, Polar Air Cargo B744F, and Atlas Air B748F.
July 7, 200520 yr I downloaded refits from the "user files" section at RealityXP's website (www.reality-xp.com); they typically come with a modified panel.cfg file, some .ini files for the various gauges, and instructions. For the Sandel, they don't have a lot of refit files up yet, but if you're comfortable with editing a panel.cfg file, it's actually the easiest gauge to use because you can literally "plug and play" replace existing HSIs with it. You just have to find all occurrences of your particular plane's HSI gauge and replace the gauge name with "RealityXP_SANDEL!SN3308". That's worked on the planes I've tried so far (Flight One C172, Eaglesoft Citation II/SP, Dreamfleet A36).For more detailed help, I'd hit the RXP forums off their website. That's where the real gurus hang out, and there are also a lot of user refit files available for download there.Lewis "Moose" GregoryRichmond, Virginia Lewis "Moose" Gregory Durham, North Carolina
July 7, 200520 yr I don't know really. I use Active Sky. The version of Active Sky on the website thus far is AS2004.5 but I have upgraded to ASV (Active Sky 5) recently and haven't notice any change on how my overcast is displayed. I've never used the MSFS default weather engine or FSMetar, so I don't know if it would work with them. Here are the settings I use for my setup...note my sight distance is less than my cloud draw distance in order to eliminate that illusion where the clouds stop but the visibility continuesSight Distance = 70miCloud Draw = 80mi3D cloud % = 100Detailed Cloud = checkedCloud Coverage Density = MaximumFSUIPC settings:Under the Visibility tab;Check "Apply vis Limits" and set all the four parameters to "6000" which equals 60 miles. To sum up, I just limit my visibility to about 60 miles (you would very rarly see much more than that in the real world anyway, even up high) and my flights tend to be in the 5000 to 25000 foot range.Hope this helps. July 7, 200520 yr I have to agree that the Aeroworx B200 is my favorite plane. As far as blowouts go I've never had one nor know if it is possible since I usually fly with maintenance mode OFF. However, I can turn it back ON and do a few doughnuts on the active for you. ;)(*I predict* version 2.0 is anyday now based on the Aeroworx News Updates forum.)Spackle:)
July 7, 200520 yr I downloaded the Reality XP retrofit, but what is the guy talking about in the readme? The cargo version... where is the cargo version?
July 8, 200520 yr What they all said. I have only about 20 hours in a B90 ITRW but I can say with some conviction that there is no better machine of its class on the add-on market.Regards,Jim
July 8, 200520 yr It looks as though he's referring to the Swiss air ambulance version that came with V1.0. There is no cargo version, as far as I know.Kurt "Yoda" Kalbfleischwww.simulomundusrex.blogspot.com Best Regards, Kurt "Yoda" Kalbfleisch Pinner, Middx, UK Beta tester for PMDG J41, NGX, and GFO, Flight1 Super King Air B200, Flight1 Cessna Citation Mustang, Flight1 Cessna 182, Flight1 Cessna 177B, Aeroworx B200
July 8, 200520 yr ...and both those issues are reported as "fixed" for the V2.0. :-)Kurt "Yoda" Kalbfleischwww.simulomundusrex.blogspot.com Best Regards, Kurt "Yoda" Kalbfleisch Pinner, Middx, UK Beta tester for PMDG J41, NGX, and GFO, Flight1 Super King Air B200, Flight1 Cessna Citation Mustang, Flight1 Cessna 182, Flight1 Cessna 177B, Aeroworx B200
July 9, 200520 yr Hello..I wrote the review over at SimHQ.com and I have to agree that the Aeroworx B200 is the most realistic airplane I've ever flown for any simulator. Probably because I have a pretty good frame of reference :(I've been working with the guys at Aeroworx on Version 2.0 and I think everyone is going to be extremely pleased at the fixes and added features. I'm always amazed at the attention to detail that these guys use. Regards..Chris "BeachAV8R" FrishmuthSimHQ.com Contributing Editor
