Any good WW2 combat sims?

Featured Replies

I agree that EAW was probably one of the all time best WWII sims ever produced. The only problem with it though is it will not run on Windows XP. Made the game a useless frisbee after I bought my new computer!! :-(

Not sure what makes you say that.. it runs great on my Win XP Pro machine. I have V1.2. what version have you got?

Well you ought to try the latest patch for IL2/Pacific Fighters 4.01 not only is it much better in the FM department (trim is much better and more important for effective flying than any other sim I've tried) the AI fly under the same rules and FM you do (which measn a hit in performance) no more UFO manuevers.

Get IL-2 Forgotten battles with the aces add-on, then get Pacific Fighters (it is stand alone but can be installed over FB and AEP).By far the best WWII combat flight sim ever, don't waste time with CFS3 it does not even come close to IL-2 FB.XP Home SP2Asus P4P800-SE Intel 3.0GHZDDR 400 D/C 2x512MBLeadtek 6800GT 256MB (71.84)SB AudigyMSFF2 & X45 throttleSee you in the fence...CYYZ

I had V 1.2, every time I tried to install it it would tell me it wouldn't run on Windows NT. I have XP installed??? I asked on one of the forums and they said I was out of luck with XP. I am amazed that you are running it on XP. I sold my copy to a friend that still has Windows ME!! :-dohScott
