June 6, 201510 yr I can't see this item getting checked during preflight? does anyone know if its part of the flows? Also i read somewhere this pressure isn't simulated correctly before engine start is this true? Vernon Howells
June 7, 201510 yr The accumulator pressure gauge is above and off to the right of the landing gear lever, and takes a moment to check. It is a part of the before start procedure in the pmdg fcom. When do you check? Depends on the airline. It works perfectly. The needle should be in the green band (above 2800 psi) AFTER pressurising hydraulics. With hydraulics de-pressurised, the needle usually settles to somewhere on the Orange band, just as it does on the real thing. Brian Nellis
June 7, 201510 yr Author I think you mean't to see about 3000 psi in the real world? But i don't know i seen it somewhere Vernon Howells
June 7, 201510 yr Yeah 3000psi is pretty standard for most airliners, give or take a few hundred psi. Brendan R, KDXR PHNL KJFK Type rated: SF34 / DH8 (Q400) / DC9 717 MD-88/ B767 (CFI/II/MEI/ATP) Majestic Software Q400 Beta Team / Pilot Consultant / Twitter @violinvelocity
June 7, 201510 yr Author I mean't the system A and B HYD should be at a min 3000 but on the PMDG its 2800 psi Vernon Howells
June 7, 201510 yr It'll top up to 3000 psi once the engine driven pumps are operating. Patrick Houghton
June 7, 201510 yr I mean't the system A and B HYD should be at a min 3000 but on the PMDG its 2800 psi As far as I understand the documents 3.000 psi are normal brake pressure, not the minimum. The AOM I got access too states that 2.800 psi are the minimum pressure. I can state if this airline specific. Christian Mohr
June 7, 201510 yr Author Yeh nomial pressure is 3000 psi but i've never seen it on PMDG ? in real life on youtube clips its at 3000 Vernon Howells
June 7, 201510 yr Not sure what you are doing. Well I just started the sim - not loading any panel state - with both engines running, no parking brake set all HYD pumps on, I do see this: Looks normal to me? Christian Mohr
June 7, 201510 yr Author Yeh i see it now. But on skysurfers youtube video at Madeira at 16:16 he mentions it, check it out. Vernon Howells
June 7, 201510 yr Yeh i see it now. But on skysurfers youtube video at Madeira at 16:16 he mentions it, check it out. Not sure what you mean, he's wondering why the levels are low and he also says that on his airline 2.800 psi are the minimum pressure. That's pretty much in accordance with my earlier post. If your HYD pressure seems to be rather low, have you ever tried to use PMDG's maintenance function to refill the system? Christian Mohr
June 7, 201510 yr Author Ok that clears that up. I'll check it on my next engine test start christian and let you know Vernon Howells
