July 15, 200520 yr Can anyone recommend the best looking scenery package (payware or freeware) for the New York area? Thank you.
July 15, 200520 yr Combine that with the NYObjects available for free here on avsim and you get the best result possible.
July 15, 200520 yr Not forgetting 'Megascenery New York' for the surrounding area. Not that I can afford all this fancy stuff, boo hoo. But, at least I have flyable frame rates!Mark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cathayhk.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/maamlogo2.jpg[/a] _________________________ Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumont VP Fleet, DC-3 Airways Team Member, MAAM-SIM

July 16, 200520 yr One note on Manhattan Scenery:If you have SimFlyer and/or Fly Tampa locations you MAY have one problem.Flying from the NY area with Manhattan scenery enabled SOME OF US have had severe flashing at our destination if they were SimFlyer or Fly Tampa locations (All of these locations for me). With Manhattan Scenery disabled, there is no sign of the problem. A work around this of course is to make the trip a two hop flight and restart fS9 before the second leg. It only happens if a flight or slew movement is made with the NY area as the departure point (i.e. KEWR, KJFK).Not bad mouthing Manhattan Scenery at all and I recommend it if you spend a lot of time in that area. It is great stuff, but all three suppliers are aware of the problem and so far there has been no solution to my knowledge.Happy flying:RTH
July 16, 200520 yr Author I had the Manhattan scenry for a while but got rid of it, its a frame rate hog no matter how you slice it. You have to basically turn traffic off and minimum weather to get flyable frame rates. I dont like anything below 20 so it went into hibernation until there is a fast enough computer to run it smoothly. It does look great, especially if your a helo flyer.Hornit
