July 11, 201510 yr How can this happen. I re-install fs2crew, and on every account on the PC it installs 4 pdfs. Whats more it locks them so I can't even move or delete them. I don't know who let that happen, but it is quite annoying. J u l ia n D i a m a n d i s

July 11, 201510 yr Commercial Member Hi Julian, The PDFs aren't locked or undeletable or unmoveable. They're just ordinary PDFs. You got something else going on there. Maybe this? https://forums.adobe.com/thread/997652 B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
July 11, 201510 yr Author Hi Julian, The PDFs aren't locked or undeletable or unmoveable. They're just ordinary PDFs. You got something else going on there. Maybe this? https://forums.adobe.com/thread/997652 I freed up some permissions on the users and deleted the pdfs. That said, why are the documents aimed on the desktop (or are are they?) Obviouslyly The 'Stop Stop' PDF is inportant, but I think say could be stored in a better location. J u l ia n D i a m a n d i s
July 11, 201510 yr Commercial Member That said, why are the documents aimed on the desktop (or are are they?) They're just links. We do that because many users have trouble locating manuals. So we make it easy for them. Cheers, B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord

Cheers, Ok no worries, but if every software developer did that, it wouldn't be a good thing. At some stage the user has to learn to navigate to the expected place, where the documents might be. Just my opinion that is all. J u l ia n D i a m a n d i s

At some stage the user has to learn to navigate to the expected place, where the documents might be. Cant see any issues with all software doing this, since once its on the desktop your know its there and have gotten the pdf's and than you can place them anywhere you like for future reference. This as Bryan pointed out for users asking where are they. July 12, 201510 yr Many pieces of software do it. Is it the right thing to do? Maybe, maybe not. As Bryan states, not everyone knows where to find them Given how easy it is to delete it's no hardship. It was odd why you had your problem, I've had that maybe once. An odd rarity. But, one software developer, in the huge field that is software developer, cannot make a stand. Some do, some don't. Comes down to know you're audience I guess Chris Smith

But when I said "known you're audience" I meant that software developers do what they feel is best for their customers, which Bryan has stated that's what he has done. It was just unfortunate you ran in to a problem I've seen once a blue moon Chris Smith

I'm not the most techichal Windows 7 expert on the planet, but I would know to look in the FS2Crew folder and find the documentation. J u l ia n D i a m a n d i s
